I'm wondering what is the legal reason to why did they not sell these in the US... A plain Specialist sells for $1500, a Duty Treated black version for $1850. I'm guessing that a LASD version with extra mags would fetch more than the common version. Why loose money and let them go to a Canadian distributor that sell them to his licence dealers for about $1600-$1650 cost.

Not sure, but what a smoking deal for a gorgeous gun! Makes me want a Bruin and a 715.

Finally got it out to the range today and 200 rounds through the pistol - a mixture of factory Remington and AE 124 and 147 grain and some 115(mild) and 147(warm) grain handloads. Zero issues, all mags worked fine, slide locked back on all empty mags, no malfunctions or hiccups of any kind, pistol simply ran perfectly - just as you would want. Yes the Sig worked fine too lol.

Couple short, mag dump vids of the last 10 rds each of the factory Remington 124grain and 147grain.

^ nice shooting! 9mm in a 1911 = lots of fun

It's a very easy, soft shooting, pistol - some had told me it would be snappier than with .45's, can't say I found that to be the case - not with the particular ammo I was using anyway. Flat shooting, easy to keep on target with very little muzzle rise and that trigger makes quick shooting sooooo easy. The Heinie sights took some getting used to though; I shoot Sigs by far more than anything else and have become so accustomed to a combat hold that it was a few rounds before I figured this one likes a 6 o'clock hold - worked fine after that though and they are fairly easy to see, even for my eyes lol.

Would you mind directing me to finding a Dan Wesson Dealer in B.C. Canada? I am enamoured and would like to get a Specialist 9mm Stainless steel finish, for myself. I also like the 10 round mags you have.

Cheers!

Agreed! The only thing I dislike about the Valor/Specialist are the Heinie sights. Otherwise they are gorgeous!

Sorry, can't help with retailers but if you contact North Sylva (distributor) I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. The 10rd mags work fit great with the magwell - almost flush.

I was just writing how I've been waiting for the cert to arrive for mine (in 45; thanks Bulls Eye!), and how it was looking unlikely I'd be able to take it out this weekend when what should arrive in the mail.
woohoo! ...and off to the range.

Awesome (had mine thru Bullseye too), enjoy!

Break-in period completed, even used it in a couple IPSC style mini-matches. Only rounds that weren't 100% were my P226 rabbit fart 115 grain loads - fired and cycled fine, just wouldn't lock back on final round fired/empty mag. Everything else was literally perfect. She's a dirty girl now but she's a keeper.
