Hi,
I’d appreciate recommendations on a top notch smith for Hi-Powers. While everyone’s feedback is welcome I’m especially interested in personal experience within the last few years with an idea of timelines and prices.
I’m looking to get one of the recent imports worked on which would include a premium barrel installed, new sights and a new finish. I’m hoping that with at least a couple of generations of ex military armourers around the talent is out there.

Don't know about your requirements, but Casey at TacOrd has done a couple nice HPs over the years. I'd trust him and his team with just about anything.

Ps. I've thought about a build for years, and he's who I'd go to.

We military "armourers" change parts and send cracked barrels and slides back to get destroyed, that's about it as far as Hi-Powers go. We aren't real armourers, do not learn how to be actual gunsmiths and most people can't even cold blue a part to save their own lives. Being a weapons tech is just a job with a steady pay check every 15th and 30th of each month for most people and most of them couldn't even inspect anything outside of a C7 in real life.

That's the reality. You'd be better off with actual gunsmiths like Casey at Tactical Ordnance like gwhysow mentioned.
