I would like to hear from Mossberg patriot owners. I have owned 2 of these rifles. A 243 which I'm keeping and a 308 which I really liked but sold because I found something better. I saw online the new patriot revere wow I want one bad nice rifle. I wonder if they are available here in Canada? Anyone have one? Btw all my patriots are wooden stock models. I just like the vintage look and feel. Please no talk about wasting money on a mossberg.

My son bought synthetic 270 with the vortex scope...So impressed I bought same in 30-06...both will shoot one inch.
Love the weight, stock feel, bolt, recoil pad, etc
and it looks like a rifle....Not the sci-fi look of the other economy rifles.
I also preferred the mag over the savage mag...for ease of removal and construction.
I added a bag of lead shot in the hollow stock to bench shoot (put 60 rounds through without, and stock design made it more pleasant , would remove lead to carry afield
Just wish they made patriot in 223 ( &7.62x39)

I bought one in 375 ruger. As much as I want to like it, I just find I cant. Feels cheap to me. Its is the marine kote laminate. Arrived with a broken stock as well. Looks great but I find it feels real cheap like I'm working a gun made out of pot metal or something. Maybe it'll grow on me. Price was sure right

I had one of these too. It was a nice rifle for the price. Accurate too. I was happy with it, but had ended up with a CZ in 375 H&H at the same time and only needed one.

Thanks guys. I like the Mossberg with the wooden stocks. They are heavier about 8 lbs. I really wanna get one of the new revere models I found online on the Mossberg site. They come with European walnut and rosewood stocks and non fluted barrels. Cannot find one anywhere in Canada. Rats.

The Patriot 6.5 Creedmoor I just shot performed well in accuracy and function

In this era of race to the bottom gun designs, your comment got my attention, and I mean that in a good way. I ordered a copy of The Scout Rifle Study, by Richard Mann, and in those pages he is very pro Mossberg Patriot, but I wasn't convinced. After all, he has a book to sell and needed an angle that hadn't been seen before. But you're a guy who owns some top drawer custom rifles, who has little to gain from endorsing a budget priced rifle since those sales don't add that much to the larder, and you understand what a rifle must be able to do in the field, not only from the standpoint of accuracy, but also in terms of ruggedness and reliability, so if you say that accuracy and functional performance is good, that's worth considering. Thanks.

For the price (sfrc link) you could do a lot better. Look at the EE for used m70's, older m700's, huskvarna and so on. Heck the $400 huskvarna rifles from trade ex would be spectacular as well. In the end you end up with a quality rifle not a cheap gun with some wood on it.

I'll chime in my 2 cents worth. I bought a Mossberg Patriot, wooden stocked, in .308. First surprise? It was walnut, not birch or beech. I like the stippling over the tradtional checkering and it was just an overall "feel good" rifle. Of course that don't make it worth a bucket of warm spit if it don't shoot. With some factory ammo I had on hand it was well within "minute of deer" accuracy BUT when I put some handloads through it, I'm sub MOA. Colour me happy! It'll be coming out with me this fall to get acquainted with bambi.

Have them in synthetic stock configuration with Vortex glass in 375 Ruger and 6.5 Creedmoor.
VERY
HAPPY.

My Pa loved the 375 Ruger so much that I ended up importing him one as well. For a fella that's hard of walking and has mobility issues, the very lightweight, heavy hitting and surprisingly VERY accurate out of box 375 Ruger Patriot is a treat for him to shoot. His new Moose thumper to be exact.

And for the price, everyone should have one even as a back up hunting rig. Just can't go wrong for the price. No experience with wood stocks however in terms of the Patriot. Just synthetic.

$900 Mossberg??? Hard pass...

Agreed.

I have a mossberg atr100 in 243win, cost me $240. I hate the blind mag (I don't like blind mags in general but this one's extra junky), but the trigger and stock are better than my Axis (ironically the stock is likely better due to the blind mag). Not the best rifle by any means, but for a low recoil range toy Im happy with what I paid.

I saw a patriot at my local CT on sale for just over $400, a synthetic model in 300wm. Probably would have bought it if I had the cash, I recall some good reviews of this rifle in 300wm around here (I wanna say from Why Not? but I'm not certain on that)

I just bought a Revere from Prophet River, Clay ordered it and had it in within 3 days. They don’t stock them but he told me he has ordered in a few other Revere’s for other people in the 6.5 creedmore. The action is every bit as smooth as the original A-Bolt I used to own and nowhere near as clunky as some of the other better quality bolt actions I’ve owned! The oil finished stock is very nicely done and the rosewood forend and pistol grip cap sport maple spacers not white plastic. The fluted bolt adds a nice touch esthetically and I like the idea of an adjustable trigger pull that can be set from 2-7 pounds. When I looked closely upon handling the rifle I had no negative feelings of “it’s a Mossberg”. Instead I was very impressed with the weight, feel, balance, workings of the action and magazine and was thoroughly impressed with the overall fit and finish. The matte blue finish is very nice. It’s not simply a bluing on an unfinished(rough cut) surface as in many cheaper production guns. It appears to be a properly finished bead blasted matte finish. I purchased mine in the 270 Win calibre and a nice touch with the Revere is a 24” barrel instead of 22” as the other models carry. I topped mine off with a Nikon Prostaff 5 in 2.5-10x40mm with bdc reticle. With the scope mounted the whole package just barely tips the scale at 8 pounds!! Clay gave me a great deal on the whole package. I could not be happier so far. I have read many great reviews on the rifle and it’s performance with out of the box accuracy. I am looking forward to getting to the range and trying mine out next nice weather day. Overall I’d say what else can you get with so many features and nice finish combined with an oil finished, cut checkered grade 2 European Walnut stock for under $2000 just for the rifle alone nowadays, never mind for $899 as Clay expressed while he was looking over the rifle.
