hakim

The 8mm Hakim arose from a deal with Sweden to sell a factory to Egypt. The Swedish AG42b design was upgraded to handle 8mm, and things went on from there. I've read that Nazi WW2 veteran Otto Skorzeny himself had a hand in getting that factory installed. So the Swedish design will bite you; a similar Belgian rifle sometimes also called a Hakim, was also built for (or by?) Egypt. It is the FN49 or SAFN, which appeared in several other cartridges.

Egypt used the deaths head emblem and was a great admirer of the Nazi's.Lets not forget the Rashid. Mein Kampff is still a big seller in the Arab world.Neither gun is worth what people think they are.

A little bit of a nerdy sidenote, the Hakim isn't based of a AG-42b but the AG-42. Sweden hadn't done the (b) upgrade when the equipment was sold to Egypt, it was only done afterwards due to issues developed in service. This also means the Hakim is based off the original design and has some different features from the more common AG-42b (most obvious being the charging cover doesn't have those big protrusions).

Value is in the 600-1000$ range. I personally don't put any premium on a low serial number, no real value there.
