my quest for flashy 9mm sutable powders continues... :)

I know slow burning powders are supposed to have larger muzzle flash, but I used enough powders to know that’s not always the case. For example Power Pistol is faster burning than Herco, and Blue Dot but has more flash (in my experiance).

I've head sure some powders contain flash suppressants. Anyone knows what powders have them? Or what powders simply give more muzzle flash?

BTW anyone tried VihtaVuory’s N350 or 3N37 powders how are they?

Don’t ask me why I want flash I just do

It would be nice if there was a list or a "flash score" listed for every powder but I think it would depend on the cartridge fired in and barrel length too. For competitions I don't want flash but for going to the range with new shooters the more flash the better! :)

Not sure you will get a lot of flash with a 9mm load though. Not a lot of powder to flash I would think.

Buy a 44 Mag with a 3" barrel and load 180 gr bullets with about 29 grains of H110, that should satisfy your flash desires. 9MM is too wimpy for muzzle flash.:p;) Like you said usually the slower powders give the most flash, maybe you need a shorter barrel to reduce the burn time in a 9MM ?

unfortunately I don't have 12-6... :(

but I do have a ported .44mag and H110 indeed makes an impressive muzzle report :)

out of Titegroup, HS-6, Herco, Blue Dot, SR4756 and Power pistol I've used for 9mm the later produced the largest muzzle flash... too bad I can't find any :bangHead:

I'm thinking of getting some Vihtavuory N350 and/or 3N37 next to pay aroud with. Anuone knows how flashy they are?
