They show up on the EE every now and then. Had one of the 12.5" ones a while ago, was very glad to get rid of it. A high percentage of owners tire of them quickly, so they circulate.
I have picked up a short barrel that’s threaded for chokes for my mag fed grizzly, I’ll be grouse hunting with it this year. I love the gun and I’ve spent some time tweaking and polishing it etc so it runs 100% but it’s gotta have a purpose, I hate NR guns that are paper weights. I understand how people tire of the mag feds quickly, it’s bigget issue is the magazines.
If it is accurate with slugs out to 50yrds I have a good spot to shoot deer with it. I took a spiked WT buck at 40yds last year, would be fun to take a deer with a tac’d out 14” grizzly. All I need to do is pattern it for birdshot and make a plug for two of the three magazines and I’m ready to go house hunting, can’t wait for sept!
Hmmm looks like I have to get into this EE I assume it's like a swap and shop?
I have no trouble with short barrels, I have a 12.5" tube fed Grizzly that's probably my favourite shotgun. Handy, built like a tank, reliable as all heck.
The magazines are the Achilles heel of the mag feds.
I like a short barrel, I was looking at getting the 12.5” barrel threaded but it after measuring the wall thickness at the muzzle it was to thin for remchokes. The 14” popped up at a good price and I think it willl be better overall in length for what I want to use it for, I’ll just tuck the 12.5” away for a future use.
The mags are the Achilles heel but with some fine tuning you can solve the issue, I’ve got mine loading 2 3/4” with no hicups but I’m beginning to think loading 3” shells reliably is not possible unfortunately, I’m looking forward to hunting grouse with it. If it patterns well enough I’ll try for some hare in aug when they open back up.
They're not perfect for everything, but what they're good at, they're very good at.
