Got my 1965 manufactured & dated flak jacket from a collector south of the DMZ the very same day, how cool is that.

I bought it from one of the bigger (if not biggest?) import/export company here in Canada.

Old or new? You could send it out for a cerakote or get it re-anodized...
You have 30 days in which to inform the registry of a PERMANENT change to a firearm. Swapping uppers does not change the classification of the firearm so it's really not an issue. If the lower is registered as a receiver only then there is no need to worry at all. If you want to be anal you store the uppers and lowers unattached.
My first AR build. Shoots awsome cycles perfect and looks cool.
I started with a stripped Anderson Arms lower to make sure I had an AR registered and had no plans to build the gun right away.
Then I saw the S&J barrel with dimples and bug caught me, i got a lower parts kit somewhere and snagged a Daniel Defense bolt off the EE.
The guy i bought the bolt from was very helpful with a bunch of newbie questions i hammered him with and gave me an idea for the rest.

I bought the handgaurd that was long enough to cover the gas block because that's what I figured I should do. A muzzle brake will be added soon, I have a thread protector in the mean time.
All these parts that can will be moved to my MVS that I have on order and I plan on getting a shorter barrel and maybe an upper reciever upgrade (Noveske?) for some 3 gun goodness.
Any critsism or input is welcome.
