25 Yard Freestyle Accuracy.....let's play a game.

Time to revive this thread!

Got myself a sweet HS "The Victor" recently and today was the time to try it out for the first time. Owned one in the past and foolishly sold it over 10 yrs ago. I must say that I'm impressed with the results. Hooked up two B-8 targets at the 25 meters (27 yards) line. First group was tight but a bit high, second group nailed the X pretty good but sadly one "flyer" ruined the perfect 10x, maybe next time:

Very nice shooting and a beautiful pistol !

Instead of pictures which claim some of these targets were shot at 25 yards I'd like to see a video. Half of you are full of $hit, lol.

Bold statement. What makes you think that?

If there were time limits and only one attempt I would agree with you. For unlimited time, favoured position, and as many attempts as you like, even with only moderate skill, you’ll score high every now and then. Plus, it’s only ten rounds. There are a few in here I strongly suspect to be BS, but I believe most are legitimate.

When I shoot AP, every now and then I’ll get a string or two where it’s nothing but tens. But by the time I’ve shot sixty I’ve dropped tons of points. Shooting well is easy; shooting well consistently is a b!tch.

It’s just a game based on a gentleman’s agreement not to cheat. If people do, that’s on them.

I don’t have any video shooting groups at 25, it would be quite boring, but here is a video of me shooting something called the advanced super test. All shots are to a B8: 10 rounds at 15 Yards from concealment in under 15 seconds, 10 rounds from concealment at 10 Yards in 10 seconds, and 10 rounds in under 5 seconds at 5 Yards from concealment. Passing score is a 270. Failure to meet a par time is immediate fail. Gun was a stock S&W SD9 VE from under a T-shirt with an AIWB holster. I need some work, but this is a good test to show trigger control issues and adds some time pressure....good enough for you?

Must be bored. Put your money where your mouth is. If we are all full of ####, where is your target? Why haven't you tried?

I just found this thread the other day and thought I’d give it a shot. I only got to print off two targets before my wife and kids complained how much ink I was using. Lol! Apparently I should be able to get some more from my wife’s place of employment soon.

My first attempt was my best! The flyer was the first round. A little adjustment and I surprised myself!

I can usually do better than my second attempt below but it’s what I got tonight none the less.

It was a lot of fun! I’m excited try again!

I'll need to give this a go again next time I'm at the range. Crappy thing is the lighting at Target Sports at the far end of the range sucks when you've got old eyes.

Bringing this back from the dead...

This was only my second trip to the range this year and I haven't tried this for a couple of seasons but the results were extremely satisfying.

First, the venue. Range D at the Rocky Gun Club for those that know the place:

The gun, a well used Ruger Mk.III 22/45 with the Ruger fiber optic front sight. Ammo was Winchester Dynapoint GT bulk:

The first target I shot:

The second target:

The final target:

Considering how little I have been shooting the last several seasons I am extremely happy with these 3. If only I could claim this was a typical day at the range...
