Anyone received his yet and would like to give us a review here?
I am on the edge of ordering one, but at 500$ it’s got to be an educated purchase for me.

What i like about the idea of a folder :
Carry rifle in a 42’’ compact drag bag
Not having to lower cheekrest for bore maintenance

What stops me from buying one now without further research :
How tight the locking mechanism works (any wiggle)
If it looks well made enough to endure a few years of folding/unfolding without breaking (perceived reliability as no one has ran one for a few years)

There is a review on the website the rhymes with wifle whooter . com.

I remember reading somewhere else that it locks up nice and tight as well.

The one thing you can always count on is great service from MDT. I am sure it is great product.

I can tell you that a ridiculous amount of testing went into the ESS folder, which is why it was delayed a little longer than needed. I have shot a few now, and when finished, they lock up super tight, fold well (over the bolt OR to the weak side) and don't wiggle when shot. They're very easy to install and straight forward once it's on. Probably the most well thought out and streamlined design available right now, with NO-ONE ELSE running a double hinge! If you have any questions, be sure to get hold of me ;)

Thanks for the report!

Got one of these and shot it for the first time yesterday.
Bought it cause it looked sleek. Im new to shooting but gizmos are fun. I flipped it to fold onto weak side of rifle.
Havent found much use for it yet as gun is transported in a pelican hard case. And only have a 20" barrel length but the movement is super smooth and locks very tight. It suits the whole ess package very nicely as well and honestly half the reason i got the ess is for the esthetics of it. One complaint during install is the acess to bolt on the folding mechanism to the chassis is very tight... the allen handle needs to be tilted to tighten the bolt. But there was a long t handled allen included that made quick work of it.

When folded would it still fit in a Pelican case or would the case not be deep enough? I'm looking at getting one too but would want to keep it in a Nanuk or Pelican case still.

Yes plenty deep for that. I keep mine unfolded in a 42" pelican with the scope on and a remington 597 with its scope on as well. Overall folded width is just under 3.5"and length is 31" with 20" barrel no brake.

500$ is just the base, still have to add forend and stock options, they start closer to 900$ for the most basic package.
