what knife do you use to field dress your game?

Buck 110 folder. I got this knife 15 years ago as part of my graduating class from Forestry Tech., it has the coat of arms lazered on the handle. It has done everything from weasels to moose and elk. For big animals I have a bag of knives, my 2nd go to knives are gerber gators I got off the EE for cheap.

I realize this isn't a hunting point, but this is the knife the RCN Bos'ns prefer and what RCN Officers also carry.

Grohmann D.H. Russell belt knife#1. I also have a Gerber Gator as a backup. All I need. Anything bigger just gets in the way... I field dress quick and clean. For deer I don't split the pelvis or the brisket, no need.

Puma Hunters Pal, had it for 45 years, it has gutted and skinned numerous moose and deer. Also have a Victoria Knox Rucksack model Swiss Army knife. I use it for daily and general purpose work as the Puma only comes out when there is meat on the ground. The Swiss knife has a slender lock blade and very good for a$$hole removal.

My primary knife I use is the Old Timer Sharpfinger. This short bladed knife allows me to reach into the body cavity to cut in tight places around bone and soft tissue. Equally, it is made of great steel and holds an edge for gutting and skinning.

I need to find an old one of those one day. I really like the style so I bought a new one but it was a total pos.

I've got 2 main knives , buck alpha folder drop point and a small Buck caping knife. Took me a few years to find the right knives for me but these two always do thier jobs well.
For guttin fish I use a Big Eddy II ..... have had the same knife since I was 15 years old. It's about an inch shorter now from all the sharpening over the years but 34 years of service and I'll probably have it for 30 more if I'm lucky enuff.

Gerber Gator drop point. I like the grippy handle.

I own many knifes but this is what I have used mostof the time the last 10 years or so.

A USA made Buck folder and Gerber folding saw and hook.

Mine is about 20 years old and the blade is becoming rather thin and shorter. I as well need to find an older one. I'll suggest to check EE or attend gun shows, you might get lucky.

That would be because they get one for free (issued) and get replacements if they lose it.

Me, I use whatever is around. Hate using a big ol' crowbar of a knife though. Have used several of my own make, a couple little folders, with short blades, usually a drop point of some sort.

A bud of mine did quarter a moose with the saw blade on his Swiss Army knife...but that's a whole nuther thing, eh?
