This is something I have been at since getting my gen 5.
For starters, I had tried someone elses glock gen 5 which sported what they call agent sights.
I was shooting at target, and was receiving results like the target picture #3, it seemed to be a driving the dot type of sight.
Fellow range member was shooting factory 147gr ammo.

I had since emailed Ameriglo, asking for a version that would support sight picture #2.
They said their agent sights we're already set to picture #2, which I find funny since even the forums claim sight picture #3 for agent sights, US forums too.
Asked if they had another version, and really wished and insisted for sight picture #2 with 147gr ammo through a gen5.
They set me up with BOLD sights, square rear notch, other than that looks identical to agent sights.

I have since received them (they deal with rampart in canada), and am very impressed with them.
Sight picture and target, using 147gr ammo, is effectively sight picture #2. Works at 7M to 20M, haven't tried other distances.
Really happy with my purchase.
Here are a few pics if you wish to order for yourselves.
Shot 700-800 since, and just continue appreciating them.

TruGlo night sights, on my Glock 19 4th Gen. Using 147g Ranger T by Winchester, shoot point of aim point of impact. That is the sight picture shown as #2 of the 3 ilustrations?

I shot bullseye competition for many years, as a member of TRC. The only way to see the black sights, all 22 LR/22 short/ and .32 S&W long, to adjust your sights, was to sit the black bullseye, on top of the sights. So you could see the sights clearly, as aiming for the center of the bullseye, meant you could not see the sights atall! Aiming in the white, so to speak?

With TruGlo all green 3 dot night sights, aiming at what you want to hit, works in any light. Poor light, sunlight.

The Brother of the Terrorist? Are they calling him a terrorist? Who had no legal ability to own handguns, on a search warrant being issued on his dwelling, had 33 Glock pistols sized?

How did he obtain those?

Aren't those the same ones that come on the higher model? If so, they have site picture 2 then?

No these aren’t the same as upgraded factory gun night sight glocks.
The upgraded ones are called agent sights.
They have a U notch at the rear instead of a square notch.
The time i have tried agent sights they we’re using sight picture 3.
When you check forums everyone claims they have sight picture 3.
When you email ameriglo they claim they have sight picture 2.

I purchased BOLD sights.
Which have a square rear notch.
And definitely use sight picture 2 by my experience.

Mike, your post starts somewhat normal and ends saturday night drunk posting style.
What’s that about?

Certainly not drunk! 3 am though. It must be the fact that our President is not talking about taking our guns away?

The Trudeau handgun ban...
Yes it’s a topic worth discussing, but this thread here was for G17 gen 5 sights option.
Although i would guess if ever a ban goes through, sights will be irrelevant.

Marty, in responding to blogs, to do with firearms for many years, I have never seen the absolute locked on only subject matter replies!

At 82 I might not be around for a new subject? For instance, I get asked do I go back to the UK, where I was born. As I do not smoke, have never smoked but my friends did, they are no longer around. Lung cancer/heart attacks. So go for what?

Love my Glocks, keep safe.

No
FBI sights, are also referred as agent sights.
Agent sights have a U rear notch,
These are Bold sights, square rear notch.

Edit : google images show a square rear notch when i search fbi sights
Getting confused here by official sight names

Point being, i got bold sights, i posted the product code, and guarantee they use sight picture number two.

Got it, the product # for the same sights is different @ Brownells, are these the OPP sights? or are there still another set of sights for those pistols?
So "Agent" are the U notch and BOLD are the "square notch.

Yes exactly, Agents are U and Bold are Square.
FBI I need to research more.
From what I have heard, the new BOLD set for gen 5 are not officially released yet, I emailed them a bit in advance begging for a sight solution for my glock.
As I had melted the factory front, I did not like the Dawson Precision gen 5s I had ordered as they don't fit the type of gun well (they ''fit'' perfect, but are far from tactical).
Had a nice CGNer send me a plastic sight set for free in the meanwhile.

Here is the image I had sent to ameriglo when wanting my sights.
Just by looking at sight measurements, I knew i'd have sight picture #2, as the difference between front and rear is the exact same difference between front and rear as plastic sights.
And factory plastics we're sight picture 2 out of the box, 147gr ammo.

I see, ya I think the .200 is standard for the 147gr ammo, that's what most "duty" pistol are sighted for.

I can do that. You can also see that the back sight is squared off in this 360 degree view on firearmsoutletcanada.com/glock-17-gen-5-w-ameriglo-night-sights-9mm-4-5.html

I saw them in person too. I would actually prefer the Agent sights to be offered stock.

There's also a good message board thread on Glock Talk if you Google "glock gen 5 ameriglo" which details and shows photos of what people are getting with the gun.

I was an early adopter for a gen 5
At the time, it was either glock plastic, glock metal, or agent sights.
No other sight option was offered.
Now they been available to the market for more than a few months, i can only guess options are opening up

Yeah I have no idea what they offered when they dropped. What I know is that Agent sights aren't available now. I tried to get those, I prefer the back sight for those. I think it's easier to ling up a circle in a concave notch and a square in a square one.
