S&W 586-3 factory engraved value?

Hello, I'm not really familiar with revolver but I got this from a trade.

It's a S&W 586-3 limited factory engraved. It's in pristine condition, very low round count.

Can you guys please chime in on a current value since I haven't really seen another one before.

Wasn't aware of any S&W 586's that were"factory" engraved. Do you have any provenance? The engraving looks pretty rudimentary to me.

Same as any other 586. $550-$750 depending what all comes with it.

Do you have the box and accessories? It is a limited run that would put the price higher than a regular 586, but would be more desirable to a collector if you had everything.

It will probably fetch a higher price than a run of the mill 586. Although not in the realm of the 27's and 29's, $800-$1000 wouldn't be too far fetch to the right person.

Engraved guns are niche items. A few will pay a premium, others will not, and some will not be interested no matter the price. I'd start higher and hope to get lucky, but wouldn't be too fussed about dropping the price to standard used market value if it didn't move.

If the box says special, than it likely will be custom shop done .
I think more in the 900- 1000.oo would be what I would have it at if it is like new, with the proper box.
May not sell fast, but to the right buyer-ie collector, not a everyday shooter, I seem to sell real nice early 586 faster than 686's

Firegun, when you run your fingers across it, is it smooth or not, When I looked again, I think Halger may have a point.
Years ago I had a Python done in gold leaf that looked kind off like that
