CCI CB Killing Power

well I got my first chance to see how the CB's kill today, and I splashed two crows with two shots! :D Range was short, around 15 yards, and they folded right up like a dirty shirt!

CB longs are for urban shooting where you don;t want to announce to all and sundry you are shooting. They are lethal on anything up to coons-but they require a head shot.Shot lots of them at night up cedar trees when they were bothering my chickens.Shine their eyes and shoot between them.Long range accuracy is irrelevent-these are short range bullets[25yards] and do the job they were intended for-killing off nuisance animals and crows, starlings, pigeons stuff like that

We were shooting CB (and arrows) at coons in a barn today and yesterday, most of the time a precise head shot did the trick but ocassionally a follow up shot was needed. One young coon needed about 6 shots to kill him.
And those ####ers will actually chew off an carbon shaft arrow!!!

Used one in .22 short today to take care of a red squirrel that was getting a little too friendly with my beagles. The little pest had discovered that the small amount of left-over Pedigree kibble was a lot tastier than spuce cone seeds. Was crapping all over the kennel and annoying the hell out of the dogs. They're lousy as hell, so I had to get rid of the tree rat before it passed along some of its creepy/crawlies to the dogs. Next to starlings, squirrels have got to be the most annoying backyard pest.

SSS is made to kill lol. I'm in QC and there's not many gophers to shoot. I have tried the SSS on squirrels. Like any other .22lr cartridges, dropped it straight to the ground. However, like I said; the exit wound is much more spectacular than regular subsonic cartridges. I think theres no probleme that the SSS could dispatch a hare with a good placed shot.

I don't get it, a long rifle with more case, more powder can be had for under $15.00 a BRICK(500) and the short or long with less case and less powder is $35.00 a BRICK??!!:eek::eek:

What gives:confused:

Long rifle shells are cheaper because they make and sell probably 10,000 of them for every one of the CB's they make and sell.

Just tried about 40 of these today.

Worth the money if you want something quiet that won't scare the neighbors and they pack quite a punch for something that won't even cycle the action on my 10/22

i was shooting a 44 mag win 94 just off my porch yesterday, the neighbours never said boo.

besides for CBs, has anyone tried those 22 shotshells? i would assume that the pattern would be pi$$ poor (not to mention the small payload. but would they be effective on birds inside a barn? say within 15 feet.

..... 'Tried the "shot-shells" a few years ago! Rats with glowing eyes and teeth like a T-Rex ! OK, I exaggerate a little ! Anyway, the shot-shells where totally ineffective ! 'Would have done better to have just farted ! 'Ended up clubbing the little buggers with the butt ! ..... David K. ....:p
