K98 Cleaning Rod

You have to measure your stock. I don't have a good way to do it...so I have no clue. :(

Maybe wire? But that could be gunk caught in your stock...so I wouldn't know.
I've never actually known how people have done it. But I believe with early stocks, they use short rods, and late ones use long, as a general rule. I THINK! I am probably wrong.

If it's a Russian capture, wait till you get it, s it could have been refurbed with ANY stock from ANY year. You will need to measure.

Yup ...

Myself, I need both a 10" and a 12" for two different pieces in my collection. I just haven't had the time to get round to ordering them.

Thats the problem. I don't know how to measure the rod when in place to know whether I req. the 10 or 12". I was doing some searching and found pics of hte cleaning rod not extending past the front sight hood. IS this how you tell what the proper length is?

That sounds like it would work Summer.

Another more reliable way is to check where the cleaning rod nut is in the stock. (The cleaning rod screws into it) If it is only visible in the barrel channel inside the stock, it is a 12 inch rod. If it is visible on the outside on the bottom of the stock (by the rear band), then it is a 10 inch rod.
