Anybody thinking fall bear yet?

Any of you guys thinking about it yet? It hit me yesterday. It opens sept 1st down here. I've got some bait saved up. Not enough yet. But will by the time august rolls around. What are your guys plans?

If I get a moose draw this year I will be hunting an area with not only good moose but mega bears as well. In fact I saw a 6ft plus 19" skull bear up there last week while quading.

Damn man, give me a few weeks to recover from hunting spring bears . I have not even got the hide out of my freezer yet. Not long and there should be another one in there......

Do you guys have to use bait or can you spot and stalk as well, I've read where some places will only let you shoot bears within a certain radius of bait sights.

As far as me, I took a good spot and stalk bear in the spring with my new bow, still have another tag avaliable if I decide for a fall bear but they are pretty fatty that time of year.

Do you guys think the fat adds or subtracts to the taste? I haven't eaten a Fall bear before!

How soon do you guys start baiting before the season? I usually start about 4 to 5 weeks before opener.

Iv'e been puttin the odd table scraps out in the barrel and it gets hit by the next day. I will start baiting hardcore in august.Table scraps,dog kibble and no name fake maple syrup.I realy got to get a game camera.

maybe depends if we get moved back out to the west coast in time if not Ill have to get BR/Darryl and chilly out here in the spring for a west coast hunt and show them guys what real bears are about haha

Hey Fogducker I was gonna stop in and check your camp today, but I was cut off by a deer on the highway. Damned near hit her too. She went across, saw a car coming the other way, and turned back right in front of me. I made a detour, under full brakes, and she got over your fence.
I forgot all about going in.
