Tac-Con™ 3MR Trigger System legal in Canada?

Just been looking into triggers for AR15s and specifically ones for my new WK 180 and came across these......they state the trigger will make you AR15 "nearly full auto"
Just wondering if anyone has one and more importantly are they legal in Canada?

I don't think binary triggers are legal here because the law defines semi-automatic as one press of the trigger. Letting go of the trigger and having the gun go off again is undefined I think, unless someone can chime in. Either how, the gun must go off in one press of the trigger for it to be legal semi-automatic.

Or maybe the liberals have us beat and so this is what they mean by fully semi-automatic? Lol.

This could fall under a "grey area" therefore be legal

Like you said; it would be great if someone could chime in who has more knowledge on the firearms act, legalities and so on

A retailer is not going to import these and sell them as something that falls into "grey area" period. The RCMP or the CBSA can give them hell in an import and/or be raided, just on a whim. We all know the RCMP and the CBSA operate outside of well defined law, so nobody is stupid to take the chance.

Someone here probably has done the research into binary triggers as they are nothing new and can probably quote the firearms act or a legal amendment proving legality or not.

"1 Any electrical or mechanical device that is designed or adapted to operate the trigger mechanism of a semi-automatic firearm for the purpose of causing the firearm to discharge cartridges in rapid succession."

I believe they are using this as the basis for calling it prohibited.

AFAIR, Tac con is not a "binary trigger". A binary trigger will be something that fires a shot on the release of the trigger. IMHO, the trigger is legal because one round is release per each press. The question is more if you really need it, or maybe a giessele super SSA will do the same.

Taccon has an assisted reset. The trigger basically has a powered reset that almost pushes the trigger finger back to position - that is why it feels "faster" as the trigger finger doesn't need to do anything to release the trigger. Basically the shooter just concentrates on pressing without worrying abut releasing.

If you are very good with your trigger, it doesn't really do too much. But if you have to fire a lot, it is always better to take less effort.

You can see that Jerry Miculek running this trigger. Honestly, for jerry it didn't really do too much at all.

I have a suspicion the mere fact that your selector lever has three positions with this trigger will cause brain aneurysm at the RCMP labs.

I'd rather stay on the more clear side of the law, and stick with something like Geissele SSA-E or SSP trigger ...
