Fastest .22 Semi?

Not all fully-automatic guns are illegal here. In fact, I know of one that you don't even need a license to legally buy/own/use. Of course, it's just a BB gun, but hey ;)

.22 semi SPEED

IIRC back in the mid sixties Guns & Ammo did a test on the available .22 semi's of the time. Using an electrically actuated bar on the trigger they ran the speed up until the rifle quit by the trigger being pulled before the bolt was fully home. I can only remember the winner of the test which was the Mossberg model 351 with a tubular fed mag through the buttstock. I only remember this because my father had one. When the bolt was pulled back on the 351, and the mag release fed a round forward, the round would be partially chambered before the bolt travelled forward. The bolt would not be slowed down by having to strip a round out of a mag. The maximum rate of fire was around 3000 rounds per minute. Most blow back .22 semi's cycled near 2000 rounds per minute anyway before failure. Far beyond the fastest finger. I have fired an old clip fed Model 77 .22 that was converted to full, a C7 in full, and an M240 belt fed. (in the U.S.) I had no problems keeping the C7 and the M240 down to 1-2 shot bursts but the M77 got five rounds off before I got off the trigger.

I was looking on the net a while back for 10/22 accessories and came across a site that sold a "hell fire trigger" which helped with rapid firing - anyone have one of these or heard anything about them

8" Krinker Plinker with VQ Hammer, Sear, Shims, Extractor, cut trigger spring, radiused bolt, polished rails, tuned firing pin, VQ extractor, bolt buffer. Should be about 1.5lb trigger when done, and it'll shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger with absolutely no jams! :D

100% illegal prohib trigger actuating device. Can't use those crank triggers either.

i find my gevarm is faster than my father in law's 10/22, since it fires from an open bolt - it is ready to go as soon as the shell is ejected, no waiting for the bolt to close. I doubt i could tell the difference when shooting though, both are much faster than I am

Look at my previous post on this......try 22 Long. Yes long vs long rifle. My friend's Gevarm was firing a bit faster, than it did with LR. Too boot it jammed less often. Not that it was a 'jamatic' or something, actually far from it.

I can't picture how it'd fire with the bolt open, and even then how it'd extract.
No pictures, I sold mine.
The bolt is a solid steel cylinder with a "v wedge" machined into one end. That is the firing pin. The wedge hits a rimfire cartridge and dents it straight across. This action ignites two opposing rim spots.
The bolt blows back, gases blow the casing backwards, the casing hits a piece of the magazine and deflects out.
It will fire faster than the Krinker video a few posts before this.
