Help me! 590 forend removal

Sorry everyone.

Here's what I did:

Stuck a dowel inside the forearm tube the same size: to hopefully mitigate the turning it was doing.

I ended up using 2 vice grips around the action bars: one on each arm with the pressure on the flat area on top. (This was also to help keep it from spinning inside the forend.)

Locked it in the vice around the plastic forearm.
Wrapped the nut in some scrap leather and cranked on it with another set of vice grips. Being careful not to damage the fine threads.

It wasn't elegant or graceful, but it turned and started to come loose.

After that the SGA forend went on pretty simple.

Made sure to put some grease under the cap when I tightened it back on. Hopefully I won't have to go through this rigmarole next time I try to swap forends!
