Need to pin Lee Enfield magazines?

silly regulations.

the only reason the lee enfield is listed as an exemption is that when the gun grabbers were writing the regulation it was pointed out that the magazine limits were unworkable the way they wrote them, rather then admit they were wrong they just added in exemptions for specific items. long term they would solve all these little problems when they confiscated everything.

So enfield mags that were manufactured would work in the semi-auto conversions, which there were a few but exist in museums now.

It is my opinion that the 20 round enfield trench mag was never manufactured for the use in the semi-auto conversions, as the trench mags were discontinued before the semi-auto conversions were developed.

but then that didn't stop the lab from retroactively deciding that the 25 round 10/22 mags were prohibited devices.

Near the front section, cant remeber off the top of my head but its there. Also, manually repeating firearms have no legal magazine restrictions, there are a couple of exceptions Enfields are legally limited to 10.

Found it. Page 17, under the header "Legal Hunting Methods".

It is unlawful to use a firearm designed, altered or intended to be aimed with one hand OR that has a barrel less than 305mm in length.


So I guess mares legs with their 12" barrels are not legal for hunting in BC...

I don't think they are. Does the regulation say that Lee Enfield rifles are limited to ten rounds? Or does it say that Lee Enfield ten round magazines aren't prohibited devices?

There it is. Read it. The reference is specifically to Lee Enfield magazines which do not hold more than 10 rounds. That is the specific exemption.

Sorry, typo on my end. 305mm = 12.0079”, I missed a couple 0’s lol.

Where would I find that in the regs? I can't say that one caught my eye at any point...

in alberta there was an exemption in the hunting regs. allowed to hunt with a 10 round mag in an enfield. not sure if its still there or not

That's what I thought. There is no limit on the capacity of magazines made for the Lee Enfield rifles. The regulation says their magazines are not subject to the prohibition that applies to magazines made for semi-auto centrefire long guns.

If a magazine was made for a semi-auto centrefire long gun and it happened to fit the Lee Enfield, it wouldn't matter if you used it in the Lee Enfield, it would be illegal to even possess it.
