I'm looking for some "end user" feedback on there DBM, specifically if someone is using the REM LA, with the 3.85 mags? so stuff like "fit & finish" and quality? The cost seems modest for that DBM market. Any issues with receiver compatibility? Thanks
 
I have the one you're looking at, the 3.850" for Remington 700 LA. It works perfectly fine. In LA form it only requires very minimal inletting, easy job with a Dremel and some files. The inletting is so minimal that you can put the stock BDL floorplate back in and you can barely tell. The finish is just fine but nothing fancy here, would definitely look better in Cerakote.

The magazines are good too. Just a warning, with the .300 RUM / .375 H&H version, there's no shoulder support in the mag. So when you're firing a high powered cartridge, the tips hit the front of the mag. With a .375 H&H soft nose it's enough to flatten the tips. You'll also definitely need to crimp your rounds or else the bullets will get pushed into the case.

This isn't an issue with the .300 WM / 7mm RM version of the magazines as they have the ridge inside them and the shoulders hit that under recoil.

Thanks, great feedback, can you only use there mags? or at least just the 3.85? or could you run the Magpul Pmags for 300WM? in there DBM?
Rgt now, I have Seekins REM LA DBM, the Accurate mags are too long, however I haven't decided on a "load", but if I could run both mags in the Accurate DBM? then I may just install that?
The plan was to install the Seekins DBM, and try the Pmags, if not, switch out to the Accurate mag & DBM?

Depends on the magazine well length. If you purchase a 3.850" length DBM, you will need a 3.850" magazine. Accurate produces AICS pattern magazines so all 3.850" AICS magazines should work without issues (Accurate Mag, MDT, and Accuracy International.) Magpul only appears to make the AC P-mag in 3.715", so unfortunatly at that length Magpul is out.

With DBM kits your limiting factor is the physical length of the magazine, however, with that being said what is critical interms of length is the position of the front rib in the magazine. Which caliber are shooting? Even if you are shooting 300 Winchester Magnum out of 3.850" magazine as long as the rib is in the correct position you won't have any issues.

Thanks, so I am shooting 300WM, so I could shoot a "shorter" length rd out of the AM 3.850 mag? is that way your saying?

So I should install the AM DBM and use the AM mags that I have, so if my load, ends up at the max length? I'm G2G, OK

Yes. You will be able to load your rounds longer than SAAMI spec and hopefully reach the lands. You will also be able to do a seating depth test to see what works best in your rifle.
