What do you wear for your deer hunts?

Merino base layer
if cold - army surplus wool pants, sweater, waterproof silent jacket with hood
if not cold - some generic camo stuff that is waterproof and silent

I go for a vest with lots of storage as opposed to a fanny pack. I find it more comfortable as it distributes the weight better. Mine is a Primos brand. Heres a "warm hunting" pic (wool base layer, waterproof/silent jacket, vest)

wool, wool, and more wool. Merino underlayer, wool socks, wool pants, wool pullover with a zip-up turtleneck so I don't need the gaiter. The only thing not wool is my windbreaker/rain gear. If it's unseasonably mild I'll ditch the wool pants for cotton work pants, and the wool pullover for polypro. Outer shell may stay in the pack.

Oh, yeah, orange vest, and an orange toque pulled over the crown of a wide-brim hat.

First off I would like to hear your version of what you consider northern Ontario. Second what would be the exact time of fall do you expect to be hunting. Third what would keep me warm you may freeze in and vise versa. There is a huge difference in what you wear from sitting on a stand and what you wear walking or dogging through the bush. Please be more specific and folks can give specifics as to what they wear. Most of what you asking is trial and error for you personally.

This, and a wool thong is a must no matter what.

I switched from Merino to Micro-fleece for the base layer, it wicks dampness faster and is easier to wash and dry. For bowhunting it is micro fleece, then Scent-Lok then a camo outerlayer of some quiet fabric. I use a windshear camo turtleneck sweater and then the obligatory ballcap. I have a micro fleece Gore-Tex camo rainsuit, and Helly Hansen rain suit for the really nasty days... usually wear knee high rubber boots... the kind made for walking, not cheap black gum-rubbers. On colder days, double up the micro fleece and add a wind blocking layer.

I have camo but dont wear it out hunting very much...last falls 4 point took a dirt nap with me rocking the dirty landscaper look...lol...work boots, blue jeans and a grey long sleeve.

In my stand if I leave it up for a few days I i like to leave a garbage bag with a few old blankets in it...for long, cold sits....otherwise layers, layers more layers. Wool socks for warm and dry and wool pants for warmth and quiet.
