So I am a brand new IPSC member and did my first match two weekends ago running my gen 5 glock 17 lol.

Needless to say I can see how a heavier gun with a lighter trigger can aid in more a zone hits with less time on the clock. A range buddy let me shoot his cz shadow 2 and I loved it.

However I had a few concerns, questions. For starters his gun shot to the left pretty consistently, is there any way to adjust that rear sight? Secondly I have fairly large hands and I felt like the shadow two was a bit small in my palms. Is there any way to swell up that pistol a bit more with backstraps like a glock? I noticed the gun does not come with any accessories like that from factory.

You can either drift the rear sight, after you loosen the two screws, to the right by using a sight adjusting tool or drift the front to the left. This is standard procedure for all pistol (non-windage adjustable) sights. To the best of my knowledge there are no accessories available to change the grip size or shape. For IPSC competition, the Shadow2 is a great gun.

Rear sight is adjustable, mine consistently shot high-and-left, I shot it for a while holding at 4 o'clock, then finally adjusted the sights (I thought it was just me until a couple of other shooters found it went high-left too).

As for grip it's long and thin, I found it was similar to a 1911 overall, so I was quite okay with it from day one so can't comment on the size too much.

The weight of the 2 is fantastic, recoil is almost zero with the right loads, it's just a fantastic shooter.

hmm okay thanks for the heads up.

What other guns are similar to the shadow that may favor larger hands?

Not sure if the VZ grip panels for the original Shadow will fit on the 2.

As for shooting left - more often than not, it's the right handed shooter doing this, and not the gun. Get someone with some real skills to shoot it, and see where the group goes. A friend and I ran a class yesterday, and by looking at the targets, we could easily tell who is a right handed shooter vs left, and there were a variety of guns used. :)

I too didn't like the factory grips, too thin and smooth.I got myself a set of LOK palm swells, fantastic grips and totally changed the feel of the gun.Order direct from the factory

Replaced my grips with the original Shadow grips and feels much better now. You will have to get the different screws as well

Shadow 2 is an excellent choice for IPSC Production! I love mine!

I personally love the thin profile and grips, but you can always buy CZ Palm Swell Grips from LOK Grips if you want a little to grab on to. The grips are very well made!

Sights can always be adjusted if you find it shoots a little off. Springs can be changed to help smooth the DA/SA pull as well and keep it production legal. Well worth the money!

Sup brahs.

Got my new shadow2 from al flahertys :) everything is great and the mags fit in my ipsc mag pouches I already had.

One issue though, I noticed my gun came with everything I thought it would but it did not come with a spare safety lever. I was under the impression it ships with a "small" and a "larger" safety.

Anyone else notice this?

They stopped coming with both safety sets quite some time ago.
