Loaded up some 7.5x55 Prtivi brass previously fired in a K31, for a 96/11.
Thought the brass was already resized. 1st head slap, bolt wont closed all the way.
Not realizing then the brass was not resized, I check O.A L. since that was my first time use of the new Hornady ELD-X 178gr thinking perhaps bullet profile was different to the Original 178gr Amax. Seemed fine although there is a slight difference. Then measured the brass itself and the shoulders seemed a bit too far forward. Pulled one bullet, resized that case, seated bullet and it fits fine in 96/11 chamber and firing pin does work fine. Rifle was on safe with a little pressure on left side of safe position (horizontally) safety ring so bolt could be operated. Held onto the safety ring so firing pin can't hit primer.
So this morning as I am rushing to get to work I insert Cam lock bullet puller into my Hornady Classic LNL press, pulled five bullets and placed brass into reloading block.
Changed out Cam lock bullet puller to seating die and re-seat the bullets. After doing all five... 2nd head slap... forgot to to resize the brass... the reason for doing all this in the first place.
