I have searched with no luck on what the max velocity for Sierra SPBT gameking bullets would be.
I have 300, 150 grain bullets. I'm trying to produce a good hunting round for my 270wsm to use for deer. The velocity should be around 3180 fps. Before I buy a different bullet I'm curious if it would handle this performance. Any experience out there with what I'm trying?
Advice is appreciated.

I have used these bullets at chrono'd 2900 on moose, caribou and black bear and got very good performance at 125-250 yards with good shot placement. Cores can occasionally separate if large bone is hit but I never had what I would call a failure. Accuracy was excellent. I switched to Nosler Partitions looking for more penetration under difficult conditions and consider that a useful upgrade.

Sierra got back to me on the game kings.
I was told in .277 150 grain they are good to 3200 fps.
I was further told that the bullet would hold together through shoulder bone in the .277 150's. Their testing showed results of such.
But keep in mind it is different for different calibers for that weight.

they arnt Bonded together hey, an do they have a cannelure?
i personally, wouldnt be pokin them in anythin over 2900 fps just on the general rule of thumb being Cup an Cores are excellent under 2900 fps impact.......period.

Really? They sure don't hold together at that velocity from my 270 Wby into 4 litre jugs of water.

In fact, they won't hold together at 2900 from my 270 Winchester.

The first moose I shot was with the 150 gr Gameking. I pulled the rest of them. The moose was close. I found the jacket expanded about 3" under the skin and it looked like #9 birdshot through the rest of the lung cage. I needed a 2nd shot. Mind you this was maybe 45 yrs ago and they may have changed.
