Can anyone make recommendations for see through/ or high mount scope rings. I have a BLR on it's way and I will be mounting a Bushnell Elite 3x9 in silver. I would like the option of being able to use the iron sights if needed. Where we hunt it's open fields and dense brush. A couple of the guys have had deer walk out on the trail right in front of them.I have come across some Weaver see through rings in silver but they seemed very cheap. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

My recommendation, don't buy see thru mounts. Instead by the lowest possible quick-detach mounts you can buy, the lower the better. Leopold makes about the best out there. See thrus will be uncomfortable to shoot through using your scope putting your head to high on the comb. You'll get wacked in the face or miss trying to hold your head in position. Trust me on this... I used to be of the same school of thought until I got educated. A professional shooting course didn't hurt me either. Another thing to ponder while you're thinking, when was the last time you saw police or military use see-thru mounts on a patrol rifle? Makes sense right? All the best.
use a 1-4 and you are in business. mount at the height your eye fall in when you shoulder the rifle period. I dont use long range rifle with sight for bush. I use 2 rifles for 2 very differents applications.

A good quality 13/4 to 6 or 8 mounted low and learn to shoot both eyes open, look at target bring rifle to your shoulder both eyes open and if rifle fits you the crosshairs will be sitting on your target.
I have shot deer in hardwoods at 15 yards to 100 and you are good out to 400 yrd with the higher magnification

See thru rings in my opinion are almost a guarantee you won't be able to get a scope picture.
Setting up the proper eye relief in a set of the lowest mounts on the rifle so that the full field is available when the gun is mounted will help. A scope on 3x setting in the woods can easily allow fast close shooting at least for me anyway.
Make sure the scope is properly focused.
The eye relief is usually shortest at max power so I adjust the scope in the rings on high power. I also set it while wearing the hunting gear I normally wear . Thick coats put the scope farther away from your eye. I bring it back so that I can just get the full field of view.
When you turn it down it will still be correct.
Learn to mount the gun while looking at the target. I've seen inexperienced people invariably try to get the "scope picture" and then swing onto the target. This doesn't work.
You can shoot very accurately to 300 yards even with a low powered scope but it's hard to do fast woods shooting at 9x.
I prefer 1-4 or 2-7 power scopes for this reason.
