Which 9mm are you wishing to chamber it in? Fer me, I wouldn't do a rimless 9 when I could go 357 mag and have much greater versatility. What be the barrel thickness at the muzzle?
Oops, just checked and there's enough meat in the barrel to work. Ron Smith would be me first choice for a rebore.

The Martini Cadet action has been shown to handle pressures a tad north of 50,000 psi without damage, assuming a rifle in sound condition. I'd rate the Martini's up there with the newer Winchester M92's & Rossi's as far as strength goes. The nice bit about the small action Martini, other than it's build quality & great looks is it has one of the fastest lock times out there which makes them ideal for target work.
I have a yearning now to get a nice Martini again as I miss my BSA Model 12 target .22 that I stupidly sold way back.

Mine chambers and fires 32-20 and 32 S&W Long (with some minor case bulging) and is stupid accurate with .314" 100 grain lead wadcutters in the 800-925 fps range. I just have a hankering for a more commonly available calibre, a bit more punch and I really like the factory set-up. The bore is excellent, so perhaps I'll just leave well enough alone. You are right about build quality and lock time, the baby BSA actions are real gems.
