Nunavut hunter killed by polar bear and cub

How can this be...isn't there like only 10 starving bear still alive caused by global warming.

Condolences to the family of the man murdered by the bears.

Strange that they were Inuit hunters with firearms and they allowed a polar bear to get that close!! I would think that with their level of knowledge and experience that they would be prepared for this situation.
 
sht happens-sometimes you kill the bear--sometimes it kills you---that's how nature works--cant possibly think that being a hunter should be safe and fuzzy warm with no risk??that's what should make it a challenge---cause its dangerous---right or wrong?

I love seeing stories like this, not because a person or a bear died, but because of the unbelievable pain and suffering it must cause to social justice warriors who have to try to figure out who the bigger victim is, so their outrage and virtue signaling machine can kick into high gear.

It must be like a computer virus in their brain repeating "Polar bear is victim, must defend...Aboriginal is victim, must defend...Polar bear is victim, must defend...Aboriginal is victim, must defend..." until the operating system crashes.

I hope everyone on the left who reads that story has their entire Labour Day long weekend ruined, trying to figure it out.

Seriously? Someone loses their life and this is what we are going to speculate against. I get it that alcohol abuse is a problem in northern communities just as much as its a problem across the world but come on man have a little respect here.

I agree with you; if I am incorrect I certainly publicly apologize. I understand both the RCMP and Coroners Officer are investigating and should publicly disclose what "really" happened.

A 2017 study looking at polar bear attacks in Canada, Greenland, Norway, Russia and the US found they were likely to be caused by hungry male bears or - more rarely - females trying to defend cubs. Polar bear attacks are uncommon. Researchers documented 73 attacks between 1870 and 2014 across the five countries, but warned a loss of sea ice habitat and increased interaction with humans could increase their frequency.

who really gives a crap if some northern hunter got eaten by a bear --we are supposed to pay respects to some dude nobody knew--wow--start reading the obituaries and crying your eyes out---10000 kids around the world die every day--but some Northern guy is soo much more important because Yogi got pissed off?---its just the way the world is--enough of this "pay your respects" bullsht.....

Exactly , I can tell you that many of those children who die each day in this world met a far more cruel end than this dude.
Strange how it never seems to warrant much more than local news.
 
Bears have a way of they are not there then they are , it's how prepared you are for the latter that counts. ( bears don't murder anything their are just being bears )
