Handgun Ban?

My bet is Libs won't make a move on it, if at all, until after the next election. If they lose, which is a good chance they will, then it's all a moot point. If they win, meh, we'll see. No point for a tin foil hat now, though.

Me? Buying, until a specific law says I can't.

I am on the more negative side. Sorry about this guys but I think the ban gun will force us to turn in all handgun and AR like. We will see gun stores and gun range closing. Only hunting related stuff will be left anyway (I hope those hunter who supported the handgun ban will get their fair share in the future but time will tell). This will drive away most of the non-hunter (12 of my circle of shooting friends into competitions and we all agree there is no point to even own a PAL if semi-auto is banned because we don't hunt.) CFO will definitely gonna cut staff due to a drop in sales. On the other hand, gang shooting will continue if not getting worse. But who cares then?! They will just BS their way saying things are improving by giving out BS stat with the most cheating way to present them. If you value your money don't buy anything further. However, if there is time I PERSONALLY would suggest you buy whatever you can and do it. At least you still got the memory you can hang on to.

I can't put it any more honest than this. I know people will disagree (or even upset) with me. Yes I am too negative but I just can't help myself. The fact is that we have more people anti-gun at this stage and age than support us in the country now. This is a battle we will lose eventually.

i dont care anymore . just received my AR transfer today. after 47 days of waiting. its time to enjoy life....

I bought another hand gun a couple weeks ago; I am in the middle of building an AR15; and contemplating another one. Considering England and Australia have some of the most severe gun laws in the English speaking world, they also have very high rates of gun crime; problem is, when Turdo takes away all of the legit hand guns, and the steady rate of increase in gun crime continues; it will be too late for the rest of us. What f***heads he and his minions are.
 
Liberals lost the election badly the last time they attacked citizens with the LGR.

They will likely do the same thing to themselves now.
 
I believe this is a dog & pony show for a few vocal socialist gun grabbers. At very least I don't see anything meaningful happening unless Trudeau gets another majority. Trudeau has a lot on his plate with a year+ to go to the next election. I don't see this new mandate to Bill Blair to be top of the list of things to do. A lot of people are not happy with Trudeau and its not just firearm owners.

True enough. As a couple of examples, his 'friendly' neighbour to the south that says he :rolleyes: loves Canada. Also, want to buy a pipeline??
 
The ban is coming, can't be avoided because things the governments plan on implementing down the road is going to piss people off so they can't have you with guns.
 
Some of you guys need to do a little more digging into the fine print and maybe take a deep breath...

The study, is just that, a study, it might take a year or more to complete... the fine print of this silly study is actually looking at things like grandfathering and buybacks. The emphasis seems to be on looking at what a grandfathering in of the RPAL would be like.


So there you have it, if the Turd gets a second majority maybe, just maybe there will be a grandfathering in of the RPAL. That would be the worst case it seems. If we keep fighting I dont see it happening... they are currently in deep $hit with this pipeline and the Trump trade war, so they have a full plate and lots of other ways to screw up Canada.
 
A handgun ban is the absolute worst strategy for gun control. The biggest problem - there is no long gun registry. Ban handguns and it will prove registration leads to reclassification and confiscation. If they plan to re-establish a long gun registry to reclassify and confiscate semis, levers & pumps, a handgun ban would be the worst way to start. The second problem is there will likely be 10’s if not 100’s of thousands of people nation-wide suing the federal government for damages. Yeah, they could grandfather handgun owners, but what difference would it make? What a stupid thing to do.

Ok let’s stick our collective heads in the sand like good Canadian gun owners. Gun owners throwing others under the bus just like before. Wendy must wet her jeans reading posts like this. This gun org is crap, this gun range is crap or this gun store is crap. Oh don’t worry the worse is they will grandfather restricted.
Gee let me think they did this once before. How well has that turned out?
The progressives end game is to take all guns away. Those trench gun or sniper gun duck hunters and great white hunters who think they are safe who have and will throw handgun owners and black gun owners under the bus are in for a big surprise and I sure the hell won’t be standing up for them when their turn comes cause I won’t have any reason to.
