Hi, I just recieved my new family heirloom yesterday. It was my fathers Enfield that was given away many years ago....I got it back :):):).

I am hoping there are some Enfield experts out there that can help me dig up some history on it.

Engraved on left side of reciever:
No4 Mk1 F (FTR)

Engraved on left reciever:
No4Mk1 ROP (P) 5/43

Has "flip up" micrometer scale sight.

Any info would greatly be appreciated. I know nothing of Enfield history...other than it help win WWII. ;)

It is ROF(F). Made Royal Ordnance Factory, Fazakerly (near Birmingham), May 1943. Went through a Factory Thorough Repair at Fazakerly at a later date.
