Wondering if anyone has some recommendations on what round ball size to use for a Pedersoli 10ga muzzleloader. Has anyone used .735 with good results? Or should I be trying out .750 or .760? From what I understand the biggest production mold that Lyman makes is the .735. It'd be nice if I could purchase a mold without going custom.

Thanks for any input

Using pure lead with a density of 11.34 g/cubic cm.

Volume of sphere = 4/3 x pi x radius cubed.

10 gauge = 10 lead balls weigh 1 lb

Each pure lead ball weighs 45.4 g.

45.4 g/11.34 g/cubic cm = 4.00 cubic cm per 10 gauge lead ball.

4.00 cubic cm = 4/3 x pi x radius cubed

Radius of lead ball = 0.98 cm

Diameter of lead ball = 1.97 cm

Diameter of lead ball = 0.78"

More or less.........
