Anyone want to let me test drive their baby Glock?

I'm torn on which baby Glock to buy: G26, 27 or 30.

I've shot a G26 once, but never the .40 or .45 version. I do have lots of experience firing other pistols in both calibres, and currently shoot and reload .45..

I'm wondering if there are any Alberta CGN's willing to meet up for a little show and tell session to help me decide?

I'd of course pay for the ammo and range fees. And beers afterward...

Possible places to meet would be here in Fort Mac, somewhere in/around Edmonton or TSE in Calgary.

Anyone care to help me feed the 'addiction'? Or am I :onCrack:

Thanks for the input beeson,

I'm actually more leaning toward a 26 or 30, as I too find the snappy recoil of 40S&W more difficult to bring down for double taps.

I actually find the recoil of 45ACP to be the nicest.

If you are looking at a glock you should do yourself a favor and have a look at a xd. I did and sure am glad I bought one over the glock. It is cheaper too. Paid $749 for my xd-9 at p+d. Where in Alberta are you located?

I had an XD40, and while I liked the ergonomics and how it shot, the takedown lever constantly beat the #### out of my weak hand thumb on recoil.

When I changed my grip, my shooting went downhill, so bye bye went the XD.

I do think they're an excellent pistol however.

And for the record, I'm looking for a sub-compact, not a service pistol.

The G-26 is NOT for the limp wristed.

I once had a Glock 26, and a case of IVI 9MM NATO spec [ = HOT ] surplus ammo. The 26 was a great little piece, but I noticed a few things:

1.] when I shot IPSC matches with it, my scores went down about 20 % over what I could do with my Glock 17.

2.] The 26 was sensitive to light loads, and LIMP WRISTING. When I did my CQB one handed/1 yd draw and shoots [ speed rocks ] I was getting several stoppages even with the HOT NATO spec ammo.

3.] In my hands [ average size ] the 26 was just a teensy bit too small. I liked the extended bumper/finger bucket floor plates, but then you might as well have a G-19.

After that case of ammo was shot up, I sold the 26. And now, I am thinking the Glock 19 would be just the perfect size for my hands. Plus, the longer sight radius and longer recoil spring would make it even more perfect.

Any one have a G-19 [ ?with a rail? ] they want to sell or trade?? I still have a SS 5" barrel that would fit the G-19, and several 17/10 rd mags, so eventually I MUST get one.

I shot the sub compact double stack .45 Glock 30.

It is a very smooth recoiling pistol with standard factory loads. In fact it is much smoother them my Glock 17. Unless you are specifically after a nine millimeter I would try the G30 before I made up my mind.

if you're even in Grande Prairie you can shoot my 26, or 19, or 22, or......etc....

whatever you like. the 26 is soft-shooting, and recoil is not much more noticeable than a 19 or 17. very slightly more muzzle flip, if you can call it that. grip extensions are ###, i have some for sale if anyone needs them. it takes a few rounds to get used to the shorter grip, but buy a 1000 rounds and go pound them through your gun and you'll be mag-changing like a pro. if the gun is unmanageable, you're doing it wrong.

i can understand if your hands are waaaaay to big, but the rest is simple to overcome by actually shooting your gun and learning to run it properly.
