Stag 10 must have upgrades or ready built rifle ?

What I'd say is get a 2 stage trigger, good optic and a brake that you feel is suitable, I have a surefire warcomp on my Armalite AR-10, I love it, no flash and no rose with 180 grains
 
I almost bought one complete, like you say, nice to have it work out of the box. But I like to tinker and customize everything so I got the receiver set.

Always a trigger. Im looking at the Timney Calvin Elite since I'll try to make mine a precision rifle.
I'm handloading so also a match barrel, 1 in 10 twist with rifle length gas, probably IBI since they have a good rep and are made in Canada.
Their hand guards are pretty nice but I have an Odin O2 Lite.
I like to think adjustable gas is a good idea if you are always shooting the same loads. And for me it'll be a requirement once I save for the low mass BCG.
Phase 5 extended/ambi bolt catch/release
A good brake, Precision Armament(I know you dont need one on a 308, but why not)
Extended mag release, Odin, magpul, whatever flavor.
Haven't grabbed the grip yet but I usually go Ergo.
Luth AR MBA 3 buttstock
Taccom lightweight buffer and spring
Got a Brownells Nitride BCG while they were on sale but I really want a titanium BCG with a small firing pin hole matched to the pin. Like JL bullet or RCA. I want the reduced recoil impulse more than the weight savings.
Radian Raptor charging handle.

I guess that's pretty much it, but I guess that's pretty much everything.... I'll leave the safety alone for now haha

What is everyone's thoughts on installing a reduced power hammer spring in an AR15/AR10.
Seems like a cheap upgrade to improve the feel of a factory trigger.

changing the hammer spring won't improve the feel of the trigger much if at all, simply let the mating surfaces work themselves in. recently someone at my range commented on how nice the trigger was on my Stag 15 and asked what aftermarket trigger I am using, I had to tell him it is just a OEM Stag mil spec trigger with about of 8 years of a wear on it.
 
I’m doing my second build.
Most important upgrade is the trigger , if your doing target shooting.
I got a Geiselle NM and it’s dam nice.

Can’t say much for the factory barrels, but I had a cheap HB on my first build and it was capable of MOA,with handloads.
I’m putting a CA. CFW in my next build.

Yes, I got a Geiselle SSP that Had that problem,even though it was listed as AR10 compatible,on Geiselle web page. To bad though ,as it’s a nice trigger, even better than the National Match that I have.

What’s LPS mean?
Is it fixable?
 
Thanks, I didn’t get any LPS as it didn’t get that far.

But the first mag ran fine, after that the trigger wouldn’t reset.
Geiselle said it was common ,with the SSP and recommended I not use it.

To bad there wasn’t a fix.

To be a little more clear, GA said, in short, that the SSP shouldn't be used in AR10s. We both learned on that one. Glad the HSNM is working out.

Stag-10 MLOK model + Geissele SSA trigger. Accurate barrels and a lifetime warranty.

With the quality of the parts going into the Stag-10, and a Geissele trigger, I don't see the need for 90% of people to build a rifle. I totally understand that lots of people want to own receiver sets and many want to build them up, maybe as finances allow or to specific configurations, but if finances aren't an issue, the out-of-the-box STAG-10 308 rifle is a compelling package. Add optics, swab the bore, and hit the range.

couldn't agree more. Building is always fun, but it comes complete with damn near everything I would want in a hunting package so why?. Toss in a better trigger if that's your thing and call it a capable MOA shooter. More than enough for hunting. Cant wait for mine.

if only they offered the complete rifle in weight reduced 7mm-08 , .338 fed , 358 win hehehe
maybe they will follow companies like Wilson Combat and offer other calibers down the road but for now.... I'm grateful to have the opportunity to do my own build to get exactly what i want out of the stag-10.
