Swarovski spotter - 65mm - 25-50x wide angle vs 20-60x

I know this is a generic answer but you really need to get a good look through both before dropping big cash... Everyone likes something different... I personally liked the wide angle better, seemed less fuzzy at top end through an older ats.

You mentioned back packing. Just day trips or a few days on foot? I just got back from 6 days on foot in sheep country and I wished I had just taken a 12x50 instead of the full spotter setup.. might depend on terrain I suppose. We only hit one spot where I could actually glass 3+ kms. Good thing the wife just got a new set of 10x42's!!

Sorry to blab, lost too much money on glass in the past to watch someone else do it

Similar experience as the above. I am finding I can do a lot with tripod mounted binos in the 10-12x range. In turn my 65m Swaro with 25-50x eyepiece is staying in my pack more often..... But I am sure there will be that one trip where I will have wished I brought it..
