Holsters are very specific, and it's unlikely to find one holster that will do everything well. Your primary intended purpose is a key determinant in narrowing down your options to the one that may be best for you. Assuming that you want it only for sport, you might want to consult the rulebook(s) of the respective sport(s), because each sport will have restrictions on equipment.
If you haven't yet decided upon a sport, and you just want something that'll work well for most range situations, I suggest a Blade-Tech Classic OWB, in Kydex, for a G17. Their G17-length holster will work perfectly with your Canadian-length G19 pistol.
That is the Concealment model. Edgy shoots IDPA and there is a requirement for holsters that don’t stick out too far.
I second SolCan also. Tim is a Site Sponsor here.
The Bladetech holster mentioned above is very popular also and a bit cheaper depending on which model you pick. It will do the job as a general all around holster for casual and low level competition use.
Here are mine. The Kydex one is a homemade job I got off a CGNer and it’s easily one of the best holsters I’ve ever used. The other is a IWB from G-Code. Ok but not great. I use both for IDPA.
I have used a bunch of holsters but my favorite now is kydex from Comp Tac, prefer it to Blade Tech which I used before. Hear only good things about Sol Can must try one soon.
