I have finally made up my short list for a 9mm. These are the top 2. The ruger is cheaper. I can't decide I want both but can't aford both which one to buy frist.

I maybe wrong but I dont think they recommend shooting lead bullets with a BE. That may be an issue...However with the BE you can get one of those "Baby on board" signs for your back window...

The baby eagle would probably be the better pistol. The Rugers are tough, but not as comfortable as the Baby eagle. The BE appears to have a lower bore axis and perhaps better trigger out of the box.

rugers pitols are tough? thats new to me. i thought they became all shaky and loose after a few hundred rounds?

why anyone would buy a Ruger pistol other than their .22's or revolvers is beyond me. get the baby eagle, far superior gun.

The BE I owned felt better, had a better out of box trigger and was far more accurate in my hands than my friend's P85. There are BE's out there which don't have the polygonal rifled barrel making them fine to shoot lead out of.

You have not stated what you want to use the gun for; that is important. Very important. Major difference in parameters for target, IPSC, self defence, CCW/CFP, plinking, etc.

Personally, I am not a BE fan. I am indeed a Ruger fan although I do not own anything asides from their revolvers and .22's and rifles. They are all A1 as far as I am concerned for the money spent. Love the revolvers.

What do you want to do with the gun?

I have a bunch of Kimbers that I am going to list shortly as they do not fulfil any of my requirements any longer. They are great guns, especially if you use their top end magazines. ESPECIALLY IF YOU USE THE TOP END MAGAZINES. And very accurate. But... I have better target pistols, etc. and they don't meet my requirements any longer. Ditto several others. I also happen to own a Ruger P345 and it is a "bet your life on it" gun in .45ACP. Don't like the other .45's much though. Only the P345. You have got to try one of those. They are slick.

x2. It seems Ruger cant build pistols (semi's):runaway:. They can sure build rifles and revolvers, their .22 pistols are ok.

The Baby Eagle is a better platform by far. It is durable, has a fast rate of fire, it has the weight to help with any recoil issues, and you can get the replacement bbl mag and spring for the .41 AE or .40 S&W. A friend has one and he loves it.

baby eagle has the best out of the factory trigger out of any duty-style (read ipsc production division style) gun I've tried. it's accurate, reliable, you can use CZ or Tanfoglio mags, you can get a really nice Bladetech or CZ Speed holsters for it. It fits my hand very well, and works very well for me.

I've never owned/shot a 9mm ruger, so I can't compare the two. I only know about the BE...
