Guelph provincials, now with some top 3 results

I payed $20 on sunday to shoot an 8 stage 196 round match with 80 shooters. First shot went at 10am, we were done shooting and had the stages(which were as complex if not more then that in Guelph) torn down by 4pm result were posted to the uspsa site that night, results were done by the match director after he got home form the match.
Provincials had a states crew that were doing results during the match, why is it unreasnoable to expect them online that night?
When you send in the money to shoot a major Match you are paying for a service, one provided by voluteers, but part of that service should be having results available promtly.

yes I have, I've been paid zero to set up stages and have people complain that they were too tough. I've been paid zero to sit behind a computer pluggin scores in all day to have them completed with in a hour of the the last shot and submit them that night only to have them take days to get posted to the site. I've been paid zero to tear down stages and clean up the range after matches, I've been paid zero to set up a match RO everyone through then tear down the stages on my own with out shooting.
I've been paid zero to be on a range untill 10pm building stages that had to be shot the next day. So don't try to imply that I'm one of the shooters that only shot and never put anything back in.

I put the cost of the match to show you that you don't have to pay a large match fee to provide good service, the range also provided free bottled water.

Who has the time to jump through all the hoops that you need to jump through to volunteer in this sport.

According to the IPSC Ontario site nothing has been submitted as of noon today.

Serious Question: What hoops need to be jumped through to be a volunteer? I haven't found it to be an issue out West but maybe things are different here?

Generally one must say..........Hey I can help!

However I think that he is elluding to the requirements to become an official.

My kids are not "officials"

"Diablo" and "Trinity" shot with me (albeit I am a CRO) on Wednesady. Diablo spent the next 4 days working stages 9 and 10 with me while Trinity was holed up in the Stats shack inputing and verifying the data for the same 4 days. They are not officials...........heck they just got their BBs in December!

none...

I assume this is regarding having to be an RO in order to become a BB Instcructor...

We have never turned away volunteers

Well you should not assume any thing . You are wrong on both statements.
As far as I am concerned the R.O and B.B thing is a dead issue. That has nothing to do with what I said earlier.

You say you have never tuned away a volunteer. Why not ask Ken that you meet and shoot with this weekend. He volunteered to R.O all four days and was told " no thanks "

Maybe I stepped on a land mine inadvertantly.. if so sorry about that. I was wondering if there were any additional hoops I'm not aware of, doesn't sound like it so far. I'm already an RO and was MD for the first time earlier this year. I expect I'll be putting on at least one match this coming season and am more than happy to do so (I found out it IS a lot of work though!).

I don't know the details but based on how smooth the match was run...they didn't need additional RO's. We leave the schecduling of RO's to the Match Committee. I think we can all agree that they did a great job. Nothing personal

Einshooter? is that Enshooters German cousin?

No, He is my evil twin, the one in open division who could not hit a barn this weekend.

Thanks again to all for their hard work this weekend. It was a great match everything but my brain ran well. Stages were good. No back ups. Officials did a great job. Schedule ran smooth. It was all good.
