No.4MkI "T" repro scope mount

Yes, there are at least three types on the market. One is sold by SARCO in the US, and it has a prominent flat surface on the rear "riser". A similar one has been sold from time to time by Gander Mountain and The Sportsman's Guide, both US companies. The average retail price was between $50 and $90. They are made in India, and supply is sporadic, but these stores know there is a market.

The third is considerably expensive and almost sold as a personal favour by Roger Payne. If you PM me, I can start you down the path to reach him. I don't need one, so I never asked the price.

I believe Roger Payne is in the process of having more made up now. My understanding is they will be in the $300 price range. His repros are supposed to be very good.

An origional is fetching $600 to $800+ these days on the ebay market.

Roger Payne's mounts are good, and they will be around the 350plus mark. Price depends on the pound/dollar ratio at the time. The amount of work is incredible, as the mounts are cast in one piece and then machined. SARCO and SPORTSMAN's mounts are investment cast and "you get what you pay for" . Most if not all will require some careful fitting and many are not axial over the bore. If looking for one, let me know.

Hello!
Is there such a thing as an Enfield No.4MkI "T" repro scope mount?
Is yes, where and at what price?
PP.:)

~Angel~ has a few of the Sarco repro mounts on her No.4(T)'s that were missing scopes, or just when she wants to try something other than the regular No.3 MK1,2,3 period scopes.

They install easily and worked ok for her, plus zeroed without any problems. She shot as accurately with the Weaver 4x, as she does with any of the actual period No.32 Mk1 or Mk3 scopes.

Check with bassanobob on here ..........

He has sold these in the past. They simply need to be re-finished to match your wood color.

~Angel~ got one from him and it looks just like the ones that come on the No.4(T)'s........

Bob's service and reliability are terrific ......

So...

So, to get at these scope mounts, do I have to deal with directly Sarco (and Canada Customs ) or is there someone here in Canada who got several imported and sells them?
As for the cheek rest, it wouldn't hurt if I could get one from BassanoBob :)
Thanks, guys!

Repro No4(T) Mounts

.... I couldn't find the "mounts" on the SARCO web site, so probably they're either out of stock or no longer available for whatever reason, so I guess, importing them is a moot point. 'Too bad, as it would have been a fun, and long overdue "project" ! It would be nice if a "local" source was available ! ..... Still hoping ! ..... David K. ......:canadaFlag:

I never could find them either on the site....

I always just call....

Mike deals with export all the time and I've never had any trouble with importing stuff with him, assuming of course he's still with them.

Given the U.S. landed cost, duty etc though, you might be better to go with wheaty's sourcing.

... Thanks for the "tip" BadgerDog ! ...... I've been planning and plotting this project ever since I stepped ashore from Noah's Ark, so there's clearly no rush ! ........ David K. .....

REPRO 'mounts for a No.4(T) Clone .....

.... For those that want to build a "clone" No4(T) ..... I e-mailed SARCO INC. yesterday, and just got a reply back this morning ! ..... Mounts are currently not in stock, "check back in a month or two" ..... and no, they do not come with pads ! Cost around $150 US . ..... 'Anyone have a set(or the complete unit) that they want to trade or sell ? ...... David K. .....:(

Cloning a No4(T)

.... I can't afford, a genuine No4(T) and even if I could, I'd probably feel guilty about shooting it at the local Range, so, I'd like to build a "clone" that looks close enough to satisfy, and one that would perform as well, or hopefully better, than the originals! An original scope is definitely out of the question, and I have a "made in Germany" one, that if I paint over the markings, will look OK, and it has better optics anyway (x4), and nice clear, fixed post, reticle. ...... David K. .....:)

this is less than i expected, even for a repro.

there is a new ATI cheekpad looks very close to the 'T' cheekpad, and the wonderful thing is that it only costs like 9 USD. the down side is it is made of synthetic material and it's black, but i guess you can paint it over to make it look like wood! ;)

"check back in a month or two" ..... and no, they do not come with pads ! Cost around $150 US . .....(

..... I've got a "wooden" cheek piece on order through "bassanabob" so that's covered; I've already got the sling swivel that goes in front of the magazine. Got a 1941 (all matching No4) ..... so, it's just the mount and the attaching pads that I need. (and some green paint for the made in Germany 'scope! ) 'Even have a better than the original, leather sling on hand ! ....... David K. .....

.... Yeah "Billybob" does have a nice one for sale, and it'd probably work out easier( and maybe cheaper) to buy than build . He gave me a good "recipe" for reloads, which as soon as I run out of 3895 Powder, I'll try. .... As to the green paint, no historical significance, but it looks OK, and I really need to cover, somehow, the very prominent, German Trade name and made in Germany, markings that are on the top of the 'scope I'm planning to use ..... David K. .....
