Besides, even locating and securing the Sarco clone looks today like a very doubtful proposition, so...

In a fit of generosity, I once gave to a CGN member a steel Weaver 4X scope resembling a lot the original "T" model....... I can't afford, a genuine No4(T) and even if I could, I'd probably feel guilty about shooting it at the local Range, so, I'd like to build a "clone" that looks close enough to satisfy, and one that would perform as well, or hopefully better, than the originals! An original scope is definitely out of the question, and I have a "made in Germany" one, that if I paint over the markings, will look OK, and it has better optics anyway (x4), and nice clear, fixed post, reticle. ......
