Here is one of the select grade Milarm Garands. They go for around $700 - $750. Got this one on a trade. All I did was clean up the stock and re-oiled the wood. Internal metal is minty, check out the pic of the trigger group. Mine even had a National Match op rod. Shot good as well.

looks quite nice.
I'd say a liiiiiittle bit rougher than mine, and mine was 800.. so i guess I don't have to start freaking out
(to clarify, mine isnt a Milarm one, it was bought quite long ago)

Looks lovely though...

hey..they don't come with the leather slings do they? :) that would be a bit of an incentive..

thanks very much for posting these, as we all know how much of a hot topic this is, I'm sure tooons of people here will be glad to finally have an eyewitness account ! :)

thanks,
-Derek

Some are a little rough but the bores on most are good or better and the internal metal is great. The stocks look like sh#t but clean up well. No they don't come with a sling but you could probably convince them to discount one... they can be reasoned with. They have some packed in grease that look like the wood is good and matching and may be diamonds in the rough. Mine may have been an $800 one but the trade value was better. They should be getting another batch of 40 on Mon or Tues, so if you act fast you may be able to get one better than mine. I saw a nicer one then mine go on Thursday.

wow! That looks good! I thought from the pics of the pallets posted a while ago, that they would all be turds. Nice gun!

Garands

Any idea where these came from? My '42 S.A. is from the old Districorp Danes from several years ago, remember when they were $200-300!?

Considering those beat up Grarands were selling for around $1k in EE a few month ago, this looks like a decent buy.

Milarm has 4 Springfields that are '44 recievers with '44 or '45 dated barrels. Wood was crappy but the bores were mint and the parts are all SA and in very good condition. These will go fast. They have a few packed in grease that actually look very good.

i just bought an H&R one for 750. it had damn near no finish past the receiver, like none. but the rifle was in good shape and the wood seems it will clean up just fine. i am thinking of just reparking the entire thing.

They just got another batch. Mostly SA. Nine are WWII dated (1,07x,### to 3,33x,### serial numbers) and a couple with good '45, '44 and '43 dated barrels and all SA parts. The wood on this batch looks better. I think they will be going up for sale on Saturday.
