Sierra Game changer

Introducing the Sierra GameChanger hunting bullets: the perfect combination of Sierra’s legendary match accuracy coupled with deadly penetration. Sierra re-engineered their legendary MatchKing bullet into a hollow point design for quick expansion and fitted it with a transparent green tip for ballistic uniformity. Inside, the GameChanger features a unique construction that utilizes a special lead alloy surrounded by a tough copper jacket that delivers excellent penetration and expansion at a variety of ranges. It’s a GameChanger on any hunt!

I doubt they will act like a ballistic tip

Harder lead alloy and thick jacket? That's it? So as I said, no bonding or anything else, just a simple cup and core bullet...

And the problem? Elk and smaller animals have been dropping to non bonded bullets for over 100 years. They are not dressed in armour plate these days. You don't need a super uber magnum and a bullet made from Adamantium-Vibranium alloy to kill them

Lol nobody said they did. However, someone did say they're less than ideal on Elk shoulder, and with that I would agree. If your plan is to shoot an elk in the shoulder, then you'd be better off picking a bullet that is designed to hold up on those situations.

ELD-X are cup and core too (interlock)
and pretty damn good cup and core

Im sure they are. I hunt with cup and core bullets a lot, but I don't take shoulder shots either, I like my meat too much for that. I'll deal with hauling an animal up a steep slope if necessary.

Was able to get out to check some groupings of the load development. Getting some decent groups especially out of a hunting round. The ogive sits pretty far back so you do need to be able to run them fairly long. They sit similar to a VLD and are far different from their Matchkings. I am lucky to have them in a 30-06 and using a BDM and mag for a 338 so the length wasn't an issue. Found a few good spots to start working with, but may try loading a bit hotter as even at Max load they have zero signs of pressure, this maybe all the additional case capacity from seating out further.

55.5gr needs some testing at 200 and 300yds cause if it holds up, you are done

burning over 10gr more powder vs the 308, I would suspect this 30-06 is already going 100 to 150fps faster. Given the construction, I wouldn't get too worried about epic muzzle velocities.

Good luck this hunting season.
