Where are you guys getting your projectiles at a decent price?

223 - 62gr or heavier
308 - 168gr or heavier

My rifles seem to be a bunch of snobs.
They like the heavier stuff that is more expensive.
If I reload with 223 / 55gr and 308 / 150gr the groups will open considerably.
So I've been searching for heavier bullets for both 223 and 308 and I can only find the expensive stuff in the little boxes with 50 or 100 units.

Thanks!!!

Hornady makes the 62 Gr FMJ in the 5500 count. Any dealer that deals with Hornady/Korth Group should be able to help you out. I like X-reload, Budget Shooting Supply or Mystic Precision. Hornady also makes the 168 BTHP in 250 counts. They are out there just depends on how much you want to spend and the numbers you need.

Jerry with Mystic Precision for bulk orders. There doesn't seem to be much he can't get. I usually go with whomever is most reasonable and local for small purchases of 100-300 when I am working up loads for different brands/types of bullets although I have bought small batches in variety packs from Jerry as well. Unless something comes on a screaming good sale locally, once I figure out what is best for my rifle, I get in touch with Jerry. I am still working my way through the 6.5mm gauntlet. There are a LOT of choices for this new flavour of the day and more keep coming out. I will probably have worn out the barrel by the time I finally settle on something. Oh dear. LOL.

You can try Ray'ner Shine Gunworks in Lancer, SK. Doug has a huge inventory of all brands of bullets. He will likely have what you need.

I spoke with him at a gun show this past weekend. It sounds like after 30ish years he's looking to get out of the business and may be wanting to reduce his inventory. Perhaps he will have some sale prices if you ask.

I've been trying these 62 gr Hornady bullets from Henry at Budget out of my AR. Never bought 5500, but the price isn't bad.

Mystic Precision is a great resource.
