New supernova jamming

Duck season starting in a few days and my brand new supernova is jamming constantly with both 2-3/4" and 3" shells. When two shells are in the magazine it will spit them both out into the receiver. Any suggestions? I'm hoping there's something I can do rather than send it off for service.

You guys are right and I concluded that for myself as well today. I still have the Cabela's 30 day guarantee and am going to take it back.
Really disappointing after thinking you're buying a premium shotgun. Hopefully I just got that one fluke.

Ya'll may also be interested to know that it jammed unloaded with no visible obstructions as well. I had to use both hands and put the barrel on my ATV seat just to cycle the pump.
Anyway, off to Cabela's...

If your gonna spend that much coin on a pump you may as well get one of the proven semi autos. Theres good pumps for less that simply work. I'm partial to the 870, just a dream smooth action, smoother than the stuff with a rotary bolt

When I'm a competent waterfowler I want to upgrade to an A400, but I don't want to start on a Ferrari.
I thought I was buying a bulletproof pump with good resale to start out...

They are great guns, I've sold tons of them over the years I've worked in firearms retail and you more than likely just got a bad one. It happens with every manufacturer. Anything mass produced there will be the one that was built on a Monday or a Friday, or the person putting it together had just learned some heart-wrenching news. Just make sure to give it a good cleaning before using. If Cabela's will, ask them to cycle some snap caps before you leave with it.

So at Cabela's today they confirmed it's double feeding.

There's only one new in box supernova they have left in stock... guess what? It's double feeding too!

Took a floor model as I don't want to miss opening day.

There's some very minor cosmetic defects I'm not thrilled over but apparently it's cycling okay.

Just put 50 rounds through it and it cycles and shoots flawlessly. The more I look the more I notice cosmetic defects, the stock is clearly very faded compared to the rest of the gun.

As my old man says it's a lot of money to not have something perfect. Sort of bitter about this. Do I just put ducks in the freezer and be content I have a working shotgun?

The cosmetics don't bother me personally, but I am worried about resale.

I wouldnt have taken the gun. At the very least, they should have given you a big discount given that it was a floor model. The amount of money those new guns cost, it should be flawless when your taking it home. I have OCD so having flaws on a brand new gun would not sit well with me. And the fact that its faded worries me....thats usually something that happens with low end guns or maybe after a long while. Heck, the camo on my Mossberg hasnt faded, chipped or peeled and its 12 years old and has seen the worst of the worst in those 12 years

By the time the option of taking the floor model was discussed I'd been standing at the counter for an hour. Sparing the details I have an injury that makes it hard to be on my feet right now and was in a lot of pain, didn't see anything wrong with the gun at the time but got it home and it was obvious.

This whole experience just blows. Thanks Benelli.

Sorry to hear. I bought my Nova used for a good price and it's been a reliable waterfowl pump. Great features, build quality, and hasn't malfunctioned. There's so many lightly used ones on the EE here, I'd just return the Cabelas one and get one online here.

I had 4 Novas so far all have been flawless, one had over 16,000 rounds through it on our skeet field, it fed, fired and spit out anything you dared feed it. Sounds like you got a lemon.

My OCD would have kicked in too...or kicked someone....lol
Return it again and tell em the same thing...it double fed once again. How could they question it, esp..with the track record those guns have had right at their gun counter, annnnd with you there too !! Be worth a shot...nothing like easing a worrisome mind.

Keep us in the loop what ever you decide.....enquiring minds want to know...LOL

Well just returned it.
Was going to take one in black but tested it first... guess what?
Yep... it double fed.
What the hell is going on?
I'm back to square one, only worse as my money is tied up in Cabela's gift cards.
At least the customer service has been great at the Barrie store... shout out to those folks.

I really don't know what to do at this point. I wouldn't have ever thought this would be how it all went down.
I need to start looking at other shotguns they sell. I almost left with a Stoeger M3500 but didn't want to act on impulse.
The supernova was the only pump I wanted, I really loved shooting it (when it didn't jam) and everything about it.
