Since I now have my second WK I’m finding these things are Hungry, very hungry. After I preordered my first one I stocked up on 400 rounds of Hornady steel match and 2500 rounds of AE 55 gr Fmj. I am down to less than 500 rounds left. Is this typical for a little over a month ?

These rifles are so dam much fun I’m either going to have to get a progressive press or the wife is going to have to get a second job to buy groceries to feed them.

Just wondering who is reloading and who is buying ammo for these guns.

Haha yea man, these things are waaay too much fun :D

I bought ammo off the EE for relatively cheap, but plan to reload as it is still cheaper, especially if you plan to shoot 10's of thousands of rounds. Going to use campro bullets and the cheapest components I can find. Brass is free, because people just treat it like garbage at the range.

What’s it cost to get into an entry level progressive press? I’ve got dies already.

Campro bullets and dominion brand powder and primers would be most economical.

An good entry level progressive for loading .223 would be the Dillon 550. Updating to the 650 would give you auto indexing and a case feeder if you outfit it with one.

Haha, this thread timing is incredible. Me and a buddy just were out today playing with the 180s, doing drills, just working on fundamentals and man did we chew through the ammo fast.

I'm running 55 grain campros, dominion primers, and some H335. Thank god for reloading cause I couldn't imagine paying $400 plus per 1000.

Exactly the components I use.
On a Dillon 650 I can knock a ton out in an evening.

I run a 550 and it has served me well to date

I started with a 550 , had no issues at all.
Upgraded to hammer out 9mm by the boatload.
Kind of senseless now though. The price of 9mm is cheap to buy.
Love reloading for all my other calibers though.
I find it relaxing.

I think a 650 Dillon May be in my near future. I can’t imagine feeding a wk and loading on a single stage press.

I did it for awhile and went nutz .
I bought a 650 off another nutter fully set up for .45acp/9mm and 38/357 and never looked back.
A few more conversion kits and die sets and I'm pretty much good 2 go.
I still handload .308 and 6.5 on a single stage .

What kinda accuracy are you getting with the AE 55 grain fmj?

Rested in a lead sled with an f-class optic.

On my first Wk my best groups are about 1-3/4” 3 shot/100 yds with the AE55 gr FMJ. The second one is slightly better.
My best groups have been with Hornady steel match 55 gr hp and Hornady 55 gr vmax.

I was getting about 2.5" groups of 10 when fired somewhat quickly.

10 rounds in 2.5" at 100m?

If American Eagle gave that kind of accuracy in mine, I wouldn't bother reloading for it.

Mine with AE was about 1/2 minute of IDPA head box...so ~4" wide with a bit of vertical stringing stretching it to ~6" high
