I just took delivery of of a new CZ 527 carbine in .223 Rem. I got it through Guns n Things, Blackie Alberta.

info@gunsnthings.com

The rifle cost $695 Canadian, tax in. The 50 metre test target has three shots in one ragged hole. I'm pleased. It's a sweet little walkin' around gopher and coyote rifle. I'll post a range report once I've shot it.

I enjoy my CZ 527 American in 221 Fireball. Beautiful stock, and nice little action. The set trigger is nice too, but more $ @ around $950 taxes included.

Mine will shoot 3/4" 5 shot groups with handloads, Im sure it can do better once bedded and more load development :) Enjoy your new CZ! and post pics if you can

I have one in 7.62 x 39 and its a cracking little rifle, I take it as my guide gun for all those dangerous deer over here!

Range report:
Winchester white box 45 grain varmint - 3391 fps. Accuracy was outstanding.

Yes they shoot well for me too in my 527. I have had the front lug area bedded and it seems to have made an improvement in my particular rifle. Here's a target I shot today. 5 shots at 200yrds with the WWB 45grn. I knew I messed up with that flyer, I could feel myself jerk. I think it would even shoot better if I had a better rest as I'm having trouble keeping the crosshairs as steady as I would like. I find the 45grn shoot better at 200 than at 100 for some reason

I have yet to do some test targets with the latest load. I really should as I have a couple of days off now. I found it ok for 100 yards but to comply with our deer laws I needed to handload it to 1700 foot ponds of ME. I use a 125 grain bullet and its good enough for woodland deer!

My old Brno Fox in .222 will do almost that well. They're darned accurate. The only complaint I have with mine is that I find that the front trigger (as it has DST) is too far forward to be comfortable. Also the scope sits a bit high, although the rings are low and the bolt handle just clears the scope. That could be solved with a cheek rest but reshaping the front trigger would be tricky, esp. so as not to reduce access to the rear trigger.
