Heres my question for the water fowl hunters out there can I hunt them with a .410 shotgun? Due to the fact that I am in a paraplegic in a wheelchair and have trouble just getting out there I figured a lighter gun would be easier for me to use. Also if anyone has any tips or tricks I could use I'd appreciate it very much. PM me please thank you.
Or better yet a heavier 20gauge gas operated semi, 1100 comes to mind, any gas operated gun would be good. If recoil is still objectionable add weight to the gun to tame it.
He will probably need a light gun... prolonged use of a heavy gun in the seated position puts alot of strain on the core muscles, especially if there is alot of pivoting and twisting, as you would expect when waterfowling...but if a light weight gun is coupled with lightloads in a semi action, the recoil should be very manageable.
Last Saturday was a gong show. The morning in the duck blind was slow. Evening we hit a strip of corn the farmer left about 100yds long and 6 rows wide. Wound up with 16 Canadas & 4 ducks. The old man kept shooting way too soon as they were coming in...lol. He kept saying “they’re right over my head! “ lol. 1/2 blind with a triple bypass, stubborn as eff, guess he can do what he wants. The 2 youngins each got their first goose.
1963Beretta, is that a Weatherby? I’m using the choke with the 3 notches, modified I believe, with 3” bbs to 3” #3 shot. BB seems to work out better.
