Following a Made to Measure Perazzi

At no point did it say he was a newbie? In fact they said he was a Perazzi fan and already owned but this time around wanted a fitted gun.....and new shooter or not if you can afford to go with a custom built Perazzi disposable income is not an issue so why not get a fitted gun right off the hop?
Thanks for sharing OP, really enjoyed that video.

I'm looking forward to doing that one day ! Every time I shoulder a Perazzi I get the urge

They said that he was 'a bit of a Perazzi fan' but I don't hear them say that he already owned one. And really Spank, watch him mount the gun at 3:30 and again at 8:52 and tell me he's not a newbie! I'm not one of these guys who resents people that buy expensive guns since I've been known to have some expensive habits myself, but I do believe that you should be well versed in the basic fundamentals of shooting before getting a custom gun.

He's buying a gun that's being fitted to him after consulting with a well known dealer. I would argue the best way for anyone to get into the clay shooting sports (or shotgunning in general) would be to get expert help along with a gun that's been fitted to the individual, if they can afford that route. It will probably mean that he won't develop any nasty habits from compensating for an ill fitting gun. I believe Krieghoff notes, "you shoot with the barrels but you hit with the stock" . Based on the video I'm also assuming it's not his first !

At 3:36 they say” we pattern tested Chris’ existing Perazzi”. This was at their facility in England when they took the order for his new gun.....to me that meant he already owns one and clearly watching him mounting a gun he is not new to the game. Watching him shoot at the end of th video he knows what he’s doing. His head never leaves the stock looking for a second bird and moving to where it emerges from. He also has good follow through and shooting stance.

I can’t explain it but when I take mine from the case and assemble it there is a very different feeling comes over me than with any of my other guns.....and when you shoulder and shoot it it feels like you’re handling a thoroughbred. Thats about the only way I can explain it? Everything is so smooth on it.

You don't have to explain it to me, I know the feeling ! Funny thing is, for me at least, every Perazzi that I've shouldered doesn't fit me (and I've shouldered many at SHOT) but they just ooze class. That's why I'd go the same route as the guy in the video. On the other hand, Krieghoff's fit me just fine so at the moment I have a K80 and a K20 (but I still lust after a P gun, either a Piotti or Perazzi).

'existing parazzi' yes your right, I missed it. He's definitely a different shooter at the end of the video than at the first though, maybe the magic of a custom gun was all that it took!

And I have had the exact opposite experience where the K guns I have tried didn’t fit me. Funny how that works.

If the Perazzi fit me right out of the box, it's what I'd have. The wife is aware that when I retire we're off to Italy ................

You may have to sell something else along with the kidney to get the Perazzi “experience!” Laugh2
