Lets see some STAG 10 range reports!!

mine won't be done in time for hunting things with antlers this season as I don't expect my barrel to be ready till years end. As soon as I get it though I'll be spending my winter putting the fear of man into the local wolf populations hehehe
wolves have moved in pretty heavy at one of the out of the way lakes we ice fish on so this year the stag-10 will be accompanying me on the snowmobile

Ya these rifles would be sweet for predator hunting! Can’t wait to blow stuff up

Agreed! Pair it with a good optic and im sure it would vaporize varmints with ease. I would really like one in 6.5 but it is significantly more to handload it seems. I have yet to find bulk .264 projectiles anywhere. Perhaps getting a second upper would be the way to go.

Ya I would not mind a 6.5 cray cray more. I’d sooner want this rifle in a 243 and load up light varmint bullets lol. 308 is a great all around caliber tho for animal protection and overal fun. 243win really has my attention tho for this gun. So exited for mine !

Here ya go, 5 rnds at 100 yards.

The Christensen Arms CFW barrel I have on order is a .243 1in10 twist. Should handle the lighter bullet weighs nice. I have a pile of 55gr NBT and 70gr NBT waiting, hopefully I can get either of them to shoot well out of it.

My rifle will be mainly for coyotes and ground hogs. Should blow them up nicely.

View attachment 208813I’ve had no issues with light handloads, but as I said the Winchester soft points, all went bang , but they appeared to be hot?
They left these gouges on the case head.
Extraction marks?

Looks like a timing issue.

The bolt is rotating before the bullet is out of the barrel.

My BCL is doing that as well, haven’t loaded up rounds for it again but I’ll turn the gas block down or try a different bullet.

We are derailing here again...

Lets keep it to range reports only please!!

Hoping to have a one stop shop for guys looking for quick range reports to push them over the edge to order one!

Had my Stag 10 out for some testing with Hirtenberger surplus today. Shot 2" at 100 yards going about 2600 fps from my Remington 20" donor barrel. More than good enough for plinking and I will update the thread once I do some more specific load development with the rifle.

Was shooting near 3/4in groups at just past 100 yards with Hornady Match 143gr 6.5CM- and that was without taking time to try for tight groups. Just breaking in the barrel and zeroing the scope. This thing is a tack driver

I built mine from a receiver set and have only had one outing with it with a donor scope while I wait for mine to come in. With a 1-4 power loosely sighted in I was shooting about 1” groups at 100 yard line and rang the 6” steel gong at 200 every time using cheap surplus. I am shooting a 20” ballistic precision medium profile (close to a heavy barrel if you ask me). I LOVE this rifle. Hoping to take an animal or two with it this weekend. No pics but maybe later
