ONT New restricted transfer wait times??

Not bad.
I talked to someone else to put in his transfer for a restricted 3 weeks ago to the Ontario CFO. Still nothing.
Anyone else have transfers in the last 1-2 weeks get approved? Any new restricted owners in Canada with timelines?

I think I'm just going to go buy some non restricteds so I don't feel as bad about waiting.. sigh. Lol.

I've bought a couple with in the last few months , both transfers took less then a week , alflahartys from order to door was 4 days total including weekend. Spoke with a couple of guys at the shop they where saying alot of stores may not have the stock available that they show online hence the longer waits, ( first restricted purchase was on June ) to 2 days for initialization of transfer and was able to pick up the

Even better, Al Flaherty's got it shipped off before cutoff time and it'll be here tomorrow around noon. I'm ecstatic. My PAL showed up today too so hey, I'm not breakin' the law!
First to arrive will be my P226 Legion DA/SA... and then the Glock 19, and finally (due to some hold ups that held up my transfer from starting) my Wilson Combat Recon Tactical AR..

I really need to get me a range membership ASAP. Not sure if I can wait until Oct. 20 to join EESA..

You’re getting restricted transfers approved without a club membership?

I started a transfer for a EE transaction. Took 2 weeks by mail. I'm waiting on a purchase that started today. Will follow up when I get shipping notification.

You bet! A club membership isn't required in Ontario, I think we're the only province. Something about a court challenge a few years back where the CFO lost, court said they had no grounds to be requiring it. They may ask, but you don't have to tell them. Not sure if they even check if you say you are a member anymore, because they know it doesn't matter. This is why some sites will say "Club Membership? (if applicable)" on the sales site, they know it's not applicable to all provinces.

Ah ok, thanks for the info! Just called in today with a confirmation number for a private transfer from an EE purchase (first time) and the lady was nice but she asked what it was for I said target shooting and she said ok what gun club are you a member of? So I told her I have a gun club member ship just across the border in Michigan and she sounded unsure about it, said the conditions to transport are only to “approved ranges” in the province, but said she would forward it to the CFO but wasn’t sure if the CFO would have an issue with that or not. So it got me a little stressed out for a bit it was going to muck things up and they would give me a hard time about it. But what you said makes me feel better about it thanks.

Worst case if they bring it up, you can say you plan on joining a club with a waitlist sometime in the future but you're not ready yet. It's essentially what I've been saying, but with the 1 restricted I've been approved so far I didn't list any club and wasn't contacted at all. Was from a dealer online though.

Now more than 8 days and going.

Its seems to be starting to slow down again

At almost 3 weeks for me, I'd say that it's already well mired. This system sucks; especially since we all know the transfer is good to go when the person at Miramichi says they are sending it to the province. To have to wait weeks simply for a rubber stamp from yet another bureaucrat is ridiculous.

My last purchase was about 2 weeks ago and it only took 4 days for the transfer to be approved. But I still haven't received my registration certificate.
