Ordered this brass not realizing it has small rifle primer pockets. From what I’ve read it has a smaller flash hole and will require a smaller decapping pin.

Can the loads listed in the manuals for LR primers safely be used on SR brass?

Anything else different that I should watch out for?

Do your load development as you usually would. The volume of the brass will have a bigger impact on your load charges than a SRP vs LRP would.

My go-to 6.5 creedmoor load is as follows:

- Berger 140 hybrids loaded 0.020" off the lands
- Lapua SRP brass
- 42.5 grains H4350
- CCI BR4 primers

The velocity is 2830 fps out of a 24" barrel (2850 fps with suppressor) and has an ES of 12 fps or less.

I'm really digging the SRP stuff.

I had the same question a few months ago, I don't recall whether I posted it in this forum or in the precision rifle forum. A search should bring that thread to light.
In any case, I used the LRP data from the Sierra manual for a starting point.
Results were pretty much spot on velocity-wise.
Like kthomas, my ES and SD numbers are very good. IMO, Lapua has a good thing going on with the SRP cases.

Thanks for posting that link biged. That was very helpful.

Well that’s good news. I may have accidentally stumbled onto a good thing here, haha.
