Want to sell my rmr 06 that i bought around 900$ shipped it is still LNIB.

people keep asking about type 2 type 2 type 2.

telling me im asking too much ~600$.

from what i can see type 1 are discontinued and type 2 are running bout the same price i paid in 2016.

Any advice?
 
the rm06 is type 2.

if you have one then its a type 2.

the type 1s are rm01,02

it should say the model on the optic itself.

Type 1s might be found for under 600 used probably lower like 500, most people want the type 2s.
 
Unfortunately, Gmwebs is totally wrong. I own a total of 8 RMRs in both the RM06 and RM07 dot sizes, in both Type 1 and Type 2 configuration. The only way to differentiate the two Types of RMR is to examine the layout of the battery contacts in the battery compartment. There is no way to tell one type from the other based on the model number (they are identical for both Types), box markings or the external sight markings. Only the layout of the internal battery connections will determine the Type of RMR that you have.

Do a Google search of "Type 1 versus type 2 Trijicon RMR" and you will see exactly what I am talking about with explanatory photos.

The Type 2 was introduced in 2017 with improved battery contacts to prevent flickering of the dot due to a poor connection. You will be very lucky to get $600 for a new, unused Type 1 RMR RM06 or RM07. $500 to $550 is more realistic IMHO. Everyone wants the Type 2, even though the use of Duracell-brand 2032 batteries, a shim on the battery and/or bending out the battery contacts will all prevent dot flicker in a Type 1 RMR. Aside from the Battery Contacts and hardening of the electronics, there is little difference between the two Types of RMR.

Good luck with the sale of your Type 1.

Ha and here I thought I was going crazy. :)

If you make a slight 'dimple' in the middle of the bottom shim/plate before install, you'll never have a flickering issue again. Have a type 1 on my Glock and my short AR, and they never ever flickers with this mod.

$500 for a type 1 RMR is a good price. Anything less and I'd probably buy it!

Type 1s are going for around $600 new where you can find new old stock. I've bought a couple of RM06s in the last year brand new.
I'm generally not fond of buying used optics, so for me at least the price would need to be significantly cheaper than buying brand new - even if your's is LNIB.
If you paid ~$900, you are looking at a fairly heavy loss.
I'd just keep it rather than give it a way. Give it heavy use and then it will owe you nothing in the end.

I agree with Beltfed - why are you in such a hurry to sell? If you are looking to recoup your original $900 investment, I am sorry to say that this is not going to happen for the reasons already explained (and based on your own experience). Everyone wants the newer Type 2, although in actuality there is little difference between the two Types. If you don't need the $550 that your sight might fetch, you should seriously just consider keeping it and using it on your favorite pistol or CQB carbine.
